MUDRUNNER
Re: New Drury Videos [ QUOTE ] After doing some back tracking I came across the phone number of a Pike County Illinois landowner with whom I talked with about leasing his 180 acre property for this season. He was the one who told me of the Drury's coming in and leasing up a large piece of property close to his and shooting out the big bucks and moving on. [/ QUOTE ] With every county in Illinois having what it takes to produce trophy bucks I highly doubt that they can lease a property and kill evrey big buck that crosses the property line, especially with Illinois having a two buck limit. If they are killing the big bucks, the smaller ones got to get bigger sometime in the next two years anyways, especially with good genetics running around.I would rather see them lease a property and scout it and hang their own stands and put in the food plots than going to high dollar outfitters that I could care less about.JMO

Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: New Drury Videos [ QUOTE ] Then they Buy up farms and Feed the deer into them in droves...... Who coudn't take big deer on camera when you own a 1000 +acre farm in the middle of great deer country and you fed and hoarded deer from your neighbors onto your with Tax deductable feeders and food plots and were the only one allowed to kill a buck there for a video production????" [/ QUOTE ] Sounds perfectly legit to me. I'm doing (or at least trying to do) basically the same thing on a 7000 acre ranch that I lease in West Texas. Of course in reality it's not quite as easy to produce monster bucks as they make it sound. I'm seeing a good number of 140 class deer, but the true trophies are still not going to fall to the first dufus that goes diddy bopping through the woods with a gun or bow. It still takes a tremendous hunter to harvest a 160+ buck, even if it's on a piece of property that is privately owned and intensively managed. Strut10
Re: New Drury Videos [ QUOTE ] ......... told me of the Drury's coming in and leasing up a large piece of property close to his and shooting out the big bucks and moving on. [/ QUOTE ] And you would do what??? Lease up a large piece of property, shoot all the little bucks and move on???????? [ QUOTE ] It is a no brainer if you read the rules of participation for the Dream Season that it was going to cost you a ton of time and dollars if selected. [/ QUOTE ] As it must have been a no-brainer to everyone who read the rules [ QUOTE ] The cost far outweighed the benefit in my opinion. [/ QUOTE ] Obviously, by the fact that there were participants in the Dream Season, opinions vary. [ QUOTE ] ........market everyone elses hunts and have them pay for their own travel and hunting expenses out of it to make a real Reality Hunting show....... This may be hunting....... But where does all the Marketing income go......??? Not to the hunters who lay down the Footage and deduct their hunt expenses on their taxes for becoming a independant contractor for Drury outdoors...... The Money stays with the Drury's..... Then they Buy up farms and Feed the deer into them in droves...... Who coudn't take big deer on camera when you own a 1000 +acre farm in the middle of great deer country and you fed and hoarded deer from your neighbors onto your with Tax deductable feeders and food plots and were the only one allowed to kill a buck there for a video production????" [/ QUOTE ] Sounds like a legit angle on the American Dream, to me. [ QUOTE ] Am I jealous? No, not in the least! [/ QUOTE ] Then why bring this thread back up a month after it died an undignified death the first time?? Is this the only axe there is to grind???
