Squirrelhunter91
This past weekend while out riding on the quad I jumped a doe that just wouldn't budge off the trail. She kept looking back into the high grass where she was bedded Then I saw a little something bouncing in the high grass. I was like what the -?! Is that a rabbit? Nope, it was a cute lil fawn making its way over to momma. It must have been a few days old or maybe a week old. Then again today, I seen another doe with a pair of fawns. Same scenario, out on the quad, doe wouldn't budge off the trail, little bouncing critters in the grass, two fawns pop out and follow momma away. It was too cool, but both times I didn't have the camera. Now I am gonna start carrying the camera always.
LifeNRA
Re: FAWNS!!! Friday morning while I was walking to my turkey hunting area, I was thinking about carring my camera. Only reason there was a guy on another forum who got pics of four of them! But I decided against it, I have enough to carry! Sure enough! On my way out, I stumbled accross a fawn lying down! I almost stepped on the little guy! As I looked down I said, oh my god! Then he or she got up and ran away! I was sadden that I scared him like that! But I knew momma wasnt far away! I only had about another 40-50 yards before I got to the mountain road. But I was a lot more careful the rest of the way out! Never did see anymore. That was the first WILD fawn I ever came accross! Now I wished I would have had my camera! But even still, he would have never gave me a shot, because he bolted almost right away! But it was cool though!!! doughboy1956
Re: FAWNS!!! That's the part of nature i like also Joe. I had it happen to me on many occasions. I played with the doe one time. I walked towards her and she went 30 ft. or so. I did it again and the same thing. Then i let on i was walking back to the fawns laying in the grass and she ran between us. We did this for about 20 min. and i walked away. I did not want to get to close to the fawns and upset them. And also she would have beat the crap out of me. They would give themselfs up to protect their young.

RangerClay
Re: FAWNS!!! I have a doe with a single fawn that I saw for the first time last week. She and Momma have been out in the field almost everyday since then. Unfortunately the grass is getting too tall to see the fawn anymore.
