toddyboman
Re: question for the golfers. nope. have took some leasons from local pro when I was younger, that helped. But never swing trainers. 79 is nothing to be upset about, most golfers cant come close to breaking 80 . Good luck.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: question for the golfers. I see all those infomercials on golf related items, I'd like to try that Medalist club sometime but can't say I have try one yet. Lots of gadgets out there to help a golfer's swing. More often than not, lessons will help out the most. A good teacher will help rid you of bad habits. Problem is lessons get expensive!! RangerClay
Re: question for the golfers. A 79 for 18 holes is a great round of golf. I have never used any type of swing trainer. When I need a little help I head to the range and hit balls till I fix the problem myself. Go out and have fun. That's the most important part of golf. Guest Finn
Re: question for the golfers. Congrats on breaking 80. That's a great accomplishment, as is 1 putting 10 times My uncle bought the Medicus driver and said it really helped him groove his swing. He went from a fade to slight draw and is much straighter. I've never bought something like that and really feel a few lessons is the way to go.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: question for the golfers. Your correct Craig, lessons help alot, more often than not its a person's grip and stance and not knowing the fundamentals. There are alot of little things that help the big picture. You can't have the "death" grip on the club thinking you can power the ball and crush it like John Daly! Nothing beats practice and as we get older these bad habits get harder to break. So practice and instruction from a good teacher helps. Most golf courses have pros that can offer some classes and most community colleges have classes that can help you become a better golfer! muggs
Re: question for the golfers. try breaking your wrists at the end of your backswing, that added a lot of distance for me. not to much, just enough to add some head speed.

VABuckSlayer
Re: question for the golfers. I'm kinda in the same boat as you Supermn106. I need to work on my accuracy with my irons. I have plenty of distance but the accuracy could be better. I shot a 77 and 79 last year. My best rounds ever. Both rounds I just took a smooth swing and stopped trying to kill the ball and that helped a lot and I still had plenty of distance too. I've never used a swing aid or took a lesson. I practice my short game in the backyard all the time (wife hates the divots! ). Just practice as much as you can and try to work it out. I've about figured out my problem I just need to practice till I break the old habit! As far as distance... if you could increase your flexabilty and maybe get a longer back swing could help. (Not knowing your swing of course) I'm 6' 2" so that helps me a little. Good luck to you! Eric
Muff
Re: question for the golfers. 79...if I ever shot that I would not want to fix my swing....I would how ever be readding my score because there is NO way I could ever shoot that...LOL

The main concern should be accuracy. I used to hit my irons a mile, but slowed the swing down and my scores went down also. At this point, I need to play 2 times a week or I just won't get better. Nothing beats playing alot
MagnoliaHunter
the best way to improve your golf swing step 1. go play 18 holes step 2. go to the clubhouse and drink a beer or 7. This will help you "remember" what you really shot instead of what you mistakenly wrote on the score card. It works for me every time.
