Just wonder if anyone gets their internet service through their digital cable provider? How much are ya paying? And are you happy with the combo package?

I'm looking to get both digi cable and internet hooked up soon so any advice is appreciated.

Hey Eric,

I have had that package for about 5 years now and wouldn't go any other way. In Fla, I had Time Warner, here in Chicago we have Comcast and going back to Time Warner in North Carolina.

Here, we pay $114 for Digital Cable, HBO with DVR and our internet.

In NC, we'll be paying $129 for Digital Cable, DVR, Internet and Digital Phone service.

Re: digi cable & internet service

I have the combo package from Time Warner here in NY. For 175 (with all of the taxes) I receive. Digital Cable (1 DVR, 1 Regular Digital Box, HBO, HBO On-Demand, Cinemax, Cinemax On-Demand, etc...), Internet Service (7mb/sec), and Digital Phone (unlimited long-distance calling in US and all of the phone features).

I have had it for 6 months and so far I have been extremely happy with

Negative... I love my dial up... mad.gif

We cant get digital cable in our area. Im paying 24.95 for Dial up with the local phone company. I can get DSL for $55 a month with a two year contract. What really ticks me off is AT&T is offering Digital Cable for $16.95 just 8 miles away....

Rawwrrrrr!

Sure wish we could. Unfortunately still no cable available here, using directv for our television viewing. Dial up through bellsouth with all the other services we have with them currently runs me I think $6.95 a month. I check quite often to see if they will get dsl out here, but just doesnt look like it will ever happen.

I have it through Cableone and it runs me about $90.00 per month. However, for TV, I just have the basic package. No HBO or other things!

I like it and don't plan on changing any time soon!

that's most likely what I'll do...I can't see paying for HBO, they play the same movies for a year or two. confused.gif

Re: digi cable & internet service

We have Charter Cable for t.v. and internet. What a rip off!I think it runs about $110 a month.Half the time the internet doesn't work and anytime we get a storm our t.v. goes in and out.I liked Direct T.V. much better than our digital cable, and it was a lot cheaper.Only problem is if you want high speed internet through Charter and don't have cable through them they charge you like an extra $30 a month for the internet service. What a bunch of crooks! The wife wants the high speed internet otherwise I'd go back to Direct t.v.

Re: digi cable & internet service

we get our through our cable company (Charter)...its a package deal i believe...i think its around $80 for the cable and internet....not really to bad....when we signed up for the internet we had planned on getting rid of the HBO channels and the Starz/Encore channels.....but with the package deal it was cheaper to keep them...and it also added the cinemax channels....have had no problems with cable going out or the internet not working...the only problem i have with Charter is they don't offer the Outdoor channel in my area confused.gif :crazy mad.gifcrazy.gif

We used AOL dial-up for a while and when we switched we didn't want to get rid of our email addresses so we also pay monthly for AOL...my dad gets a GM discount so its only $10 a month extra
