iabow
[ QUOTE ] Jeramie, I think bowmanhunter sells reflective wraps. Check him out on AT or here. http://www.bowmanhunter.com/reflective.html [/ QUOTE ]quote by hutchies Didn't want to hijack your thread hutchies, so I'll just post it here. Here is what I use. I put just a small strip on. I use the silver color and not the red though. 3M Reflective Tape I don't have any pictures of mine but found this one. Reflective wraps pics. I put my arrow out in the yard at night and swept the area with my flashlight and the tape stuck out like a sore thumb, very easy to see. It's basicly the same stuff that firemen use. VTbowman
Re: Reflective Wraps I started out by doing the exact same thing as you. However I just put a 1/2" piece between the vans and nock. It kept me from loosing a lot of arrows after the shot. I went to full 7" wraps later and found they were 100x better then the 1/2" piece. I use the same as Hutchies from Bowmanhunter off AT. Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: Reflective Wraps I cut my own. White as well as brown that reflects orange. I need to buy some black that refects white. Oh the possibilities. "It's like you never have them wrapped until you shine a light in them!"
VTbowman
Re: Reflective Wraps The one thing about mine that really sucked last December was the snow. LOL Thats when I took the white nocks off and put on a color.
Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: Reflective Wraps That is why I use a brown when there is snow on the ground that reflects orange. Now if the arrow is hidden in the snow a wait until spring may be the best answer. Done that before. Shoot the arrow and then said to myself, "I'll find that one next spring" A digital camera with a flash works to help find arrows. You take a quick picture and then look at the dig. screen. Poof, you find your arrow. It's so much faster than looking with a light if your arrow wrap is partially hidden. if then you can't find it due to the screen being so small you can always go home and download the pic and then look at it in a larger format. Hope this tip helps a bit.
VTbowman
Re: Reflective Wraps Hmmm very interesting tip on the digi camera. Never thought of that. LOL This happened only once to me and I had to revert back to ole trackin skills to find that sucker. Ok I just looked for the hole in the snow... I had missed the deer high by her jumping the string and it was not to hard to find when I put her prints in the equation. LOL I do like the "black that looks white" reflective wrap idea too. I may look into this for turkey hunting... Where do you get that?
LifeNRA
Re: Reflective Wraps Wow! I forgot about that reflective tape that turns white! Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: Reflective Wraps [ QUOTE ] Where do you get that? [/ QUOTE ] Contact your local sign shop. Reflective, newly made, usually sells for about $90 for 10 yds. Now thte stuff that has sat on the shelf for 3 yrs will be cheaper. Your sign shop will usually have pieces left over that they will sell you. Contact your local police department and ask them who does thier decals. This will help giude you in your search. Hope this helps.
