Spider bite?

Okay, I noticed a knot on the side of my leg that itches like crazy. Thing is, it has a black dot in the middle of it. At first I thought it was a tick, but it ain't, and it's not a scab, cause I can't pick th espot off. Could it be a spider bite?

Is the area around it red and circular?????? If so.....hope it isn't a brown recluse. Better go let a doc look at it. Better safe than sorry!!!

Re: Spider bite?

Gator,

I got a spider bite back in 1989 and they had to cut a hole in my leg about an inch around and 1/2 - 3/4 inch deep to get the infection out.

Definately have someone look at it.

Nope, doesn't look like that, YET........It ain't that big, but it does have that black spot in it. Also, it doesn't hurt, just itches like crazy. Bet I will be seeing doc today or tomorrow........

Dang Gator, if your not getting tangled up with a little punny snake, you get bit by a spider!

I hope everything turns out OK!!

Re: Spider bite?

Good idea, gator!! DO NOT mess with this!! My Mrs got bit last year by a spider (we're not even supposed to have recluse spiders here) and I cannot begin to tell you the extent of how nasty it got. shocked.gif Started out just itchy and looking like a pimple or skeeter bite. Within 7-10 days it was a complete train wreck. She ended up with infection, necrotic (dead) flesh and has a scar now that's REAL impressive. The sooner you get attention the better off you'll be. Good luck. wink.gif

Re: Spider bite?

Have to agree that going to see the doctor would be the best thing to do here. Will never forget, my mother in law got bit on her shoulder by a brown recluse back about the time she first found out she had cancer. Spider bites are nothing to play around with.

Re: Spider bite? ***UPDATE***

You did the right thing, Gator. wink.gif It's still apt to get worse before it gets better. But you caught it early and treated it early. Had you waited a week..........you'd be losing some flesh. shocked.gif I guarantee it. Please keep us updated as you progress. Good luck!!! wink.gif
