Gator
Okay, I noticed a knot on the side of my leg that itches like crazy. Thing is, it has a black dot in the middle of it. At first I thought it was a tick, but it ain't, and it's not a scab, cause I can't pick th espot off. Could it be a spider bite?

Guest Finn
Re: Spider bite? Gator, I got a spider bite back in 1989 and they had to cut a hole in my leg about an inch around and 1/2 - 3/4 inch deep to get the infection out. Definately have someone look at it. Strut10
Re: Spider bite? Good idea, gator!! DO NOT mess with this!! My Mrs got bit last year by a spider (we're not even supposed to have recluse spiders here) and I cannot begin to tell you the extent of how nasty it got. Started out just itchy and looking like a pimple or skeeter bite. Within 7-10 days it was a complete train wreck. She ended up with infection, necrotic (dead) flesh and has a scar now that's REAL impressive. The sooner you get attention the better off you'll be. Good luck. Gator
Re: Spider bite? From what I ahve seen and read here and elsewhere, I am afraid it is a spider bite. Now I am starting to get worried.........
dogdoc
Re: Spider bite? come on in and I'll take a look at it--and while your here if you still want that neuter job just let me know. Are you sure it's not an embedded seed tick. I pulled about 1/2 dozen off me after the shoot. todd
Gator
Re: Spider bite? Todd, I thought it was a tick to, the wife looked at it, said it was a bite. I just took a pick to it, and couldn't get it to move, but I can squeeze out a clear but red looking fluid.

jdickey
Re: Spider bite? Could just be the "head" of a tick... you might have scratched off the body. It will leave a black "dot" and will cause itching, sometimes for weeks!
wtnhunt
Re: Spider bite? Have to agree that going to see the doctor would be the best thing to do here. Will never forget, my mother in law got bit on her shoulder by a brown recluse back about the time she first found out she had cancer. Spider bites are nothing to play around with. Strut10
Re: Spider bite? ***UPDATE*** You did the right thing, Gator. It's still apt to get worse before it gets better. But you caught it early and treated it early. Had you waited a week..........you'd be losing some flesh. I guarantee it. Please keep us updated as you progress. Good luck!!!
