The_Kat
Any red dirt fans out there? I love Cross Canadian Ragweed, Briar Branch Road, Jason Boland, Stoney LaRue, Kevin Federline, and a lot of the new bands popping up. Anyone else heard of these groups or red dirt country? Most of it has originated in Oklahoma and Texas.
BowJoe
Re: Red Dirt Country Music Kevin Federline? Isn't that Britney's loser husband? I like CCR, but I haven't heard of any of the others.

bfletch7441
Re: Red Dirt Country Music Jason Boland is pretty good, but the Great Divide, especially their early stuff with Mike McClure, was one of the best bands noone had ever heard of. Not to mention the Red Dirt Rangers. Ben

He couldn't shoot pool but he sure could sign. The Great Divide used to play the Calf Fry every year with Chris LeDoux. Talk about a great concert! rifleman25
Re: Red Dirt Country Music Jason Boland, Robert Earl Keen, Kinky Friedman, Pat Greene, CCR, Charlie and Bruce Robinson among others are great. I'm not sure if thats what your talking about but Texas country is not nearly as mainstream and much better tunes. I don't get my hands on as much of it as I used to but when I went to school at Texas A&M (yes I was an aggie for a while) and when I worked offshore I listened to alot of it and really enjoyed it.
