Putting a pin on a recurve Part II (pics)

Well I cobbled a sight onto the recurve for some testing. I had an old Proline alum sight plate that I used 3M 2 sided carpet tape to stick it on. I did not want to drill holes quite yet. I then used a couple old TruGlo plastic sight pins I stole off my son bow. shocked.gifsmirk.gifgrin.gif LOL

I had to stager the 20 and 30 yard pins to compensate for the canting of the bow. Vertically they are not lined up, but if I make then perfectly verticle, I will be at my proper bow cant.

Here is a pic while not canting the bow.

You'll notice no 30 yards before pic.

Thats because I could not hit the target 3 times for a group pic with no pins. crazy.giffrown.gif LOL

I did learn a couple things about my form now that I must hold longer to aquire a sight picture.

Thats a lot of weight at full draw!

I may be slightly over bowed still but with stepping up my practice I should be able to condition my "bow muscles".

I also see in these pics that I have one arrow that does not like to fly well.

Can you pic it out in all 3 target pics? LOL

I think I am gonna keep pins on the bow for a while... cool.gif

Definately nice to be flingin them out to 30 again. cool.gif

For 2 years my limit had been 20 yards and like I said in a previous post, I had good days, and relaly bad days, which concerned me when I went hunting.

Which day would it be when out on stand...??? confused.gif

The pins really help.

Not sure if its just a kick back from my compounds days or not.

Who cares...

Its working!!!

I now have some work to do to get proficient and build those trad bow muscles to handle holding 56# at full draw...

(Thats twice that of most compounds if it gives ya a clue on how tough that may be...) smirk.gifgrin.gif

LOL

Thanks for the kind words.

ALL of you... wink.gifwink.gif
