wtnhunt
Re: good tractor for food plots Nice setup there Martin. Some of my plots, you could not get that thing turned around in, lol. Got a smaller second tractor here at the end of the summer this past year. Got a pretty good deal on a new tractor and got 0 percent apr on a three year note. Went with a kubota bx2230 with a 5 ft belly mower. Will be mowing the clover plots with it instead of the bush hog behind my bigger tractor from here on out. QDMAworks4me
Re: good tractor for food plots I am saving my pennys to buy a John Deere 990 compact tractor. Have tossed around the ideas of buying new or used but am leaning towards going new, so that I do not take on someone elses problems. Here is a pic of the John Deere I want. Here is a really good website that has some listings on just about every tractor you can think of. This can give you an idea of what they are selling for. deerslayer79
Re: good tractor for food plots Out of the 4 tractors on the farm, all of them New Hollands(yeah boys if you run blue there ain't nothing you can't do.)I use either a tc 18 diesel or a tc 55DA,both are 4wd and are the bee's knees when comes to tilling and planting food plots, other two have cabs and low hanging limbs can be a little destructive. LETMGROW
Re: good tractor for food plots Want a really good buy? I have a friend with an articulated J.D. 240 hp tractor he is selling for $ 20,000 cash. The biggest problem is it uses 14 gallons of fuel per hour idling! Nice ride if you can afford to feed it! LOL!!!

I seen a 8800 John Deere Tractor that size has over 140hp and sold for $6800. A logging company was seeling it. I have a 2030 with 55hp and does great.
