Squirrelhunter91
Bass season opens up here in New York next Saturday, the third Saturday in June. I plan to go out Saturday and possibly spend the whole day out fishing. But now, I would like to know what kind of food the fish are focusing on now and what types of lures will work? It will be a reservoir I'll be fishing that is a tributary to the Hudson River. I have caught fish in here on spinner baits, buzz baits, jigs, live worms and even top water baits of baby trout. So what should be my main plan of attack next weekend? Should I just try everything and see what is working? There are also carp and trout and other fish in this reservoir, but mostly bass. Any help is appreciated.
Shaun_300
Re: Bass opens up next saturday!! Yep same here Joe! But next Saturday I'll be on the road to Wisconsin, so I'll have to save it for when I get back. Catch some for me eh!

DSGB
Re: Bass opens up next saturday!! That's crazy that y'all have a season for bass. We catch 'em year round here. As far as what to use, it depends on the water temperature and clarity of the water. I wouldn't have a clue as to what's good up north. Good luck anyway! I'm gonna hit the water early in the morning, myself.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Bass opens up next saturday!! I've fished the St. Lawrence out of Alexandria Bay and also parts of Lake Ontario and Kingston Bay. Caught most of my fish on a spinnerbait with a #4 or a #7 willowleaf blade, but I also had good luck on a Super Fluke in baby bass or watermelon. Most of the largemouth were holding around vegetation, and I also caught a few smallies on deeper rock piles with a jigging spoon or jig-n-pig.
