Guest bigbucks125
Re: Whisker Biscuit vs. Drop away rest i use a whisker biscuit and have never had a problem with ripping the fletchings. they do wear out though...but thats just a matter of buying a new one when you see something is worn down. craig mack
Re: Whisker Biscuit vs. Drop away rest [ QUOTE ] Fall-away, no question. No loss of speed, no wrinkled vanes, quieter and tighter groups. [/ QUOTE ] Ditto
hutchies
Re: Whisker Biscuit vs. Drop away rest Best way I can put is something Boone said on AT. I don't know of any pro's winning any competitions with the biscuit.

Shaft security and accuracey reliability is where it's at.... and if you are grouping shafts in a 1" circle at 30+ yards with the Biskit.... what more can you ask for out of a rest.... hutchies
Re: Whisker Biscuit vs. Drop away rest I understand your thinking but I haven't had my arrow fall out yet and I use my bow for 3d, Spots, and hunting.

[/ QUOTE ] I like my Biskit Jeramie,,, but I'm seriously thinking on this rest right here..... It's the Vital Drop from Vital Gear Here are some of the features.... Easily installed in minutes and have micro adjustment for their pivoting action, the Vital Drop has micro adjustment for left and right. These rests are the only auto clamping system available to archers today. Never before has the bow hunter been able to lock the arrow 100% for automatic locking and unlocking at full draw and let downs for a fall-away rest. As the archer pulls the bow, the auto system unlocks, upon release the arrow flies without any contact from the launcher. As the archer decides not to shoot, the launcher system will lock the arrow down. It is preferred to shoot all fall away rests **** vane/feather up or out. Here's a video clip of it in action for anyone that's interested... http://www.vitalbowgear.com/Arrow_rest.avi
Okbwhtr
Re: Whisker Biscuit vs. Drop away rest I like the Trophy Taker shakey hunter for hunting. I feel my accuracy is so much better. I really have not had any promblems with arrow falling off. I shoot the fall away for tournament and hunting. Whisker Bisquit is used by my friends and works fine as well. Guest DIESEL40
Re: Whisker Biscuit vs. Drop away rest how much does your WB slow down your arrow because the drop away has vertually no restriction. I do realize that the WB has the fantastic benefit of not having to worry about your arrow falling of the rest.

Guest PAT_PATTERSON
Re: Whisker Biscuit vs. Drop away rest [ QUOTE ] Best way I can put is something Boone said on AT. I don't know of any pro's winning any competitions with the biscuit. [/ QUOTE ] I agree but I am not competing with anyone while hunting. The biscuit is a pure hunting rest plain and simple. It was not designed for 3-d or shooting spots. Sure it's a little harder on some vanes but the vane manufacturers realized just how many people use them they started making vanes that would hold up to it's use. It's been proven time after time speed loss is not that great, 2 or 3 fps at tops and how is that going to make a difference shooting at 20 to 30 yards. It's not. Either you like the biscuit or you don't but I like to follow one rule while hunting, I like to keep it simple.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Whisker Biscuit vs. Drop away rest If vanes are an issue and he does not want or have the equipment to re-fletch them or take them to a pro shop maybe a drop away would be ideal for him. If he gets durable vanes he should be o.k. Not sure on how much he shoots. Bottomline both are great rests and both have followers. The best bisquit concept I ever seen was one a guy modified. He opened up the areas where the vanes would be so he would have zero vane contact and no wear. It was pretty neat. You may see CAP do that in a future design. Bisquit or drop away, biggest thing is being in the woods with a bow having whatever rest you enjoy and having an opportunity to arrow a big buck! That is what its all about!! Guest GeorgiaBowhunter
Re: Whisker Biscuit vs. Drop away rest If you're considering a drop away rest and you like the buscuits ability to hold the arrow without it falling off the rest, I would recommend the QAD Ultra Rest. Best hunting drop away rest in my opinion. I used a drop zone last year and have an NAP Smart Rest on my 3D bow and like both of them as well. But my hunting bow has the Ultra Rest on it. The best thing about the Ultra is that you **** the arrow and it stays put, no matter how you move the bow. Great rest, check it out!
