VABuckSlayer
My brother and I and a friend of ours are going out on the Cheaspeake Bay tomorrow to try and catch some Flounder and Spade Fish. We may try the Spades first then go across the Bay for the Flounder on the eastern side. This will be my first saltwater trip this year so I'm looking forward to it. I hope I can catch a Spade for those of you who don't know what they are. They are pretty cool looking. They fight like a Bluegill on steriods! You catch one around 6lbs and they're like small trains! I'll post pics when I get back! Eric

VABuckSlayer
Re: Headed to the Bay Well guys... let's just say I'm happy to be home!!! We got across the Bay this morning and the wind was blowing but not horrible. They weren't calling but for 10-15 mph. Well by the time we got set up to fish it was getting worse. I had 14 oz. of weight on and still couldn't hold bottom the wind was blowing so hard. We thought about waiting it out because the forcast called for the winds to die down around mid day. Finally we decided we need to get back! We were in a 19 1/2' center console boat fighting 6'-7' waves. A 25 minute trip back across took us 1 1/2 hours. It was miserable! The waves breaking in the boat drinched us. I didn't care about getting wet as long as the boat didn't flip over! We didn't even make it into where we put the boat in. We were about 6-7 miles south. We went in a creek where we knew some friends and they took us to get our truck and we loaded up the boat and headed home. I found out later that at 8:00 they had a small craft advisory out. The weather man bout got us killed today! Sorry I don't have any pictures... maybe next time. We decided we won't go out there again with a North wind!
