LifeNRA
U.N. ONCE AGAIN TRYING TO USURP OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS-- WILL CONVENE CONFERENCE ON "SMALL ARMS" THIS MONTH With an absurdly lengthy title that tells you all you need to know, the "U.N. Conference to Review Progress Made in the Implementation of the Programme of Action to Prevent and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects," will begin Monday, June 26. This meeting is a follow up to the "U.N. Conference on the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons" meeting that we reported on in the summer of 2001. At that time, we told you that the Bush Administration made it perfectly clear that the United States would not support any proposal that threatened our Right to Keep and Bear Arms. But the U.N., fueled and financed by the likes of Rebecca Peters and George Soros, is at it again--and with a vengeance. NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre has aptly noted that the Right to Keep and Bear Arms in defense of self, family, and country is self-evident. In essence, our Second Amendment shows profound respect for human freedom, worth, and self-destiny. But two centuries after it was codified into our Bill of Rights, the U.N. is trying to declare that this civil liberty is a cause of the world's violence. It is trying to claim jurisdiction over sovereign American citizens by crafting a global treaty that calls on us to surrender our firearm freedom and accept whatever lesser standard of freedom--if any--the U.N. deems appropriate. The United States is the last truly free nation standing, offering every law-abiding human the greatest measure of freedom mankind has ever experienced, and neither the United Nations nor any other foreign influence may claim jurisdiction to meddle with the freedoms guaranteed by our Bill of Rights. To learn how you can fight the U.N.'s Global Gun Ban and save your Right to Keep and Bear Arms, please visit www.stopungunban.org, or call (800) 672-0636. This site provides valuable information and an opportunity to order Wayne LaPierre's new book The Global War On Your Guns. The book spells out a chilling warning that gun owners in the United States and abroad must heed, and exposes a far-reaching scheme to pass a global ban on civilian ownership of arms--including YOURS! Help stop the U.N.'s attempt to thwart our Freedom. Please visit the site or call the toll-free number today!
johnf
Re: U.N. & OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS The U.N. is an impotant toothless beast with no real power. Just ask the president of Iran. What they do or say is pointless.
Strut10
Re: U.N. & OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS It won't happen this time around, BUT............... This is a plea for a U.N. treaty, folks. Not legislation. A treaty. If you're not sure what that entails, I'll put it as plainly as I can. It won't happen this time around because Bush won't let it. BUT.................a Hillary Clinton or Al Gore or John Kerry in the White House only needs to sign the treaty and your guns are gone. G-O-N-E.........gone!!!!!! No vote in the House or Senate. No ballot referendum. No constitutional ammendment. One anti-gun president's signature. Gone. The U.N. needs to be thrown out of this country on its ear. And the U.N. Tower in NYC needs to be turned into waterfront condos. The U.S. taxpayers give these idiots $3 billion (with a "b") each year so they can badmouth us on our own soil and hold meetings on the 4th of July that would rape our constitutional rights. One of America's biggest enemies is on our own soil with diplomatic immunity and it stinks to high heaven!!!

buckee
Re: U.N. & OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS Oh it's serious alright. If anyone has ever believed in conspiracies, now is the time to believe ...LOL Of course if you've been paying attention over the last many. many years, you'd know that it's a pretty open conspiracy. The UN believes in Peace, at any cost. Their agenda has been to disarm the world for years now. The EU (European Union) is even hotter on this issue. wtnhunt
Re: U.N. & OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS The UN's agenda is nothing new. No doubt they want to take away our guns. Totally aside from the gun issue in this, what I am hearing on the news here lately is that some of our current lawmakers are talking about wanting or somehow trying to cut all US funding to the UN until they get new leadership and get it right, which would likely be never. I really do not see the UN ever being able to make or enforce laws in this country, they do however seem to be quite influential to the liberals. wtnhunt
Re: U.N. & OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS Unless they get support from our lawmakers, they cannot on their own just change laws in this country. Maybe I am wrong but I just dont think it works that way. Unfortunately I understand that they have gotten our lawmakers to do things most of us would not support, this type of thing does happen due to the UN getting support here from too many liberal and weak minded idiots. Throw them into the East River, let them swim back to where they came from, and turn that building into office space for all that was lost when the towers went down. We must remain vigilant, they are counting on complacency on our part.

And any treaty, signed by the president becomes the law of the land. It's the quickest backdoor attack on anything an administration can't get by legislation. If this thing would get signed by some future president, mark my words, your guns are gone.
wtnhunt
Re: U.N. & OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS Dont really think this current president is really on such great terms with the UN Strut, just dont see him going along with such. Really scares me however to think of the possibilities of what happens next, 2008.

I don't believe for a minute that this will be the last attempt by the UN to pull this crap. They know it's only a waiting game.
wtnhunt
Re: U.N. & OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS Yep, you are no doubt right there. If a dem or more liberal rep gets in office in 08, we are in some serious trouble.
Guest fishermanwhohunts
Re: U.N. & OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS We have to speak out LOUD against this thing. If a President signs this we may as well put out a welcome mat for terrorists. Its time to show people that it's not the gun but the person behind the gun.
