Guest whitetailarcher
I want to know who else does anything like this. I used area photos to make a pretty detail map of my hunting area. One inch=.41 miles. It allows me to see all the tree strips and houses so I can map where I see deer and the easiest route to get to my stands. I don't know if its all worth it, but it sure was fun making.

wtnhunt
Re: Map of hunting area Have used a terraserver map to plot some things on our property, but our property is only 60 acres, so it all fits on one standard size piece of paper. elnor
Re: Map of hunting area I've been using Google Earth to do something like this. Great fun and several times it has shown me new little pockets I should check out that I've missed via the usual boot-in-the-mud scouting. Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Map of hunting area I've got a topo map that's laminated and stuck up on the wall of the ranch house where I hunt. I'll try to remember to get a pic of it next weekend while I'm out there.
Sam16
Re: Map of hunting area I just tried to get the free Google Earth and it is extremely blurry? Do i need to pay to get a better version or what? It's a 200 acre piece of property im looking at, and when it takes up the whole screen i can barely figure out what it is. Guest GregE
Re: Map of hunting area Google Earth can be quite detailed in populated areas but the three areas I hunt are shown in very poor clarity. Paying more won't fix it- it's a compilation of several different source and there isn't enough targeting demand for NE Oregon or NW CO. DSGB
Re: Map of hunting area I use terraserver to make maps with occasionally. Google's images are not clear enough for the areas I hunt.

CuzTheyFly
Re: Map of hunting area We use them at our hunting ranch-properties, I prefer the maps available by mytopo.com here is a sample of one of the map types we use... whitetailarcher - I agree with you, maps make your hunting better for scouting, foodplots, harvest records, game management, and saftey.... We use the color aerial and the TOPO maps... Cheap Custom Hunting Maps
