iron buck
What do you guys think is the nicest looking factory rifle? My vote goes towards the single shots. Like the Ruger 1A or the Dakota model 10. Sweet little rifles. What are your thoughts?

wtnhunt
Re: Nicest looking factory rifle Really liked the browning bar high grade they made for just a few years back around 2002-2003, a really pretty rifle.
AJ
Re: Nicest looking factory rifle Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As for the best lines on a factory gun, I will have to agree that the Woogah No.1 is hard to beat. For a factory repeater, the Remington 700 is also a nice lookkng action. The best wood stocks on a factory gun are definately Dakota. The entire package on a factory gun is hard to pick, the Weatherby Mk V, Rem 700 CDL, Winchester 70 Super Grade (now extinct), and others. Looks like it would put a dent in the old ground hog population LOL.

bearcat
Re: Nicest looking factory rifle To me the nicest looking factory rifle is the Remington 700 CDL. This rifle not only looks great but handles like a dream. The model 700 LSS is also a great looking/handling rifle.
snapper
Re: Nicest looking factory rifle I'm kinda partial to the Ruger #1 myself...the stainless tropical is just a piece of art IMO. Hey gunnr...is that an FNH?

Haven't tried any rifles yet. Still not very limber at the waist. There is, however, a .375 back in my posession. It's just KILLING me to have to just look at it!!!!! May try to get a pic of it up soon.

7th
Re: Nicest looking factory rifle I will put my $.02 in: I Loved the Rem 700 then they went south fast after 94 and now will not buy a new one. Now Win fell out and though I love them also, I can not buy a new one. Now to the one that I fell for with just the working of the bolt: the Teka T-3. I got one for my Birthday back in March but have not been home to shoot it yet and can't stand it till I can get back and set it up for hunting season this year. Sorry handgun but I am tired of all the high speed supped up toys and ready for something that says fun and easy times on it. But going that way, I would say the SR-25 is about as sweet as they come. iron buck
Re: Nicest looking factory rifle I do agree that quality at Remington had gone down the past few years. But that is also true of most other manufacturers as well. Shrinking market for gun sales cause some cost sutting measures to keep margins up. The newer 700s I have seen this year, CDLs, no "J" lock junk..........seem to be getting better in quality to my eye. But back to nice lines............Here is my Ruger 1A 7x57 mauser. Just plain sexy And it shoots well to.
doubleA
Re: Nicest looking factory rifle As far as single shots go, I give the Browning 1885's higher ranks than the Rugers. The 1885, in my opinion is just classy with it's tapered octagon barrel, high gloss blue, great wood. I have both but do not have good pics of them....but with that said, Kimber makes a really nice rifle these days. Even though they use a M70 style action, the workmanship is great, accuracy is sub moa, nice wood for a factory gun and nice checkering and clean lines. Here's a M8400 I picked up last year in 300 WSM. Life is good, Give God the Glory......doubleA
