WHISKEYSWAMP
Re: The US Open The golf course definately got the best of Phil at the end... another classic Phil blow up at the US Open. either his caddy wasn't doing his job or Phil wasn't listening... leave the driver in the bag.. buckbuster11
Re: The US Open [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Furyk, Montgomerie, and Harrington all choked that one away. [/ QUOTE ] And Phil didn't? [/ QUOTE ] No, Phil let his stubborn gambling side get in the way again. He couldnt hit a fairway all day, it wasnt like 18 was the first bad tee shot. Actually the 2nd shot really cost him. He should of just punched that sucker out into the fairway. But that's Phil, he never plays if safe. Bad decisions cost him. Did you see Furyk miss that 6 footer on 18? He walked up to hit it then backed away 2 maybe 3 times before actually putting the ball. That was a choke job. Montgomerie was sitting in the middle of the fairway on 18 and missed the green by a mile and a half...to quote Johnny Miller " I bet he hasn't hit an iron shot that bad in 5 years". Another choke job.
muggs
Re: The US Open Yeah, the Hefty Lefty parred 18 the previous 3 days using a driver off the tee. That made him ignore the fact he couldn't hit a fairway all day. Sorta reminded me of the way he used to play before he finally started winning majors. Guest Finn
Re: The US Open We just got to NC in time to watch the last 30 minutes. Wow.....Lefty is an idiot. There is no way Tiger or Jack would have lost that tournament. They would have made sure they at least got into a playoff.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: The US Open sad to lose one that way, not sure if he was trying to be hero or not but this one has to hurt.... then again its golf, your a professional golfer doing what we do in our spare time, you do it as a career, this can be chalked up as a "live and learn" experience for Lefty and all others to try to be a hero when par will do!!!
