NEED riser mounting hole measurement!!!

I am installing brass inserts on my recurve riser to mount a sight and quiver but not sure how far above the shelf I need to drill.

So I need someone to measure the space between the rest mounting hole and the lower sight mounting hole on your compound riser to give me an idea.

It does not have to be to the tenth power decimal place just a fairly close measurement. LOL

I dont want to just eye it.. smirk.gif

Thanks!

I belive you might have to eye it. Because risers are different lengths, the space between the shelf and the mounting holes will be different. When drilling be careful to prevent cracking and use a counter sink bit. I'm guessing you already know that last bit.

Re: NEED riser mounting hole measurement!!!

Just as you start to sink that bit into that rise a lot of different thoughts are going to be running through your head... grin.gif

It would mess me up until I knew it was in the right position and shot fine... blush.gifgrin.gif

of course if you do mess up, you can probably just get a replacement riser... blush.gifgrin.gif

Good luck with it, and take it slow. It should be fine.

Re: NEED riser mounting hole measurement!!!

My rest mounting hole on 2 of my Mathews is 31/32" from the shelf.

The first hole for the sights on both bows looks to be about 3-1/2" from the self.

Between the rest mounting hole and the lower sight mounting hole is 2-1/2" (center to center)

Re: NEED riser mounting hole measurement!!!

I realize the difference between shelf to first sight hole and rest mounting hole to 1st sight hole.

I am wanting rest mounting hole to 1st, or lower, sight mounting hole.

Nothing esle.. LOL

I plannned to measure whatever the measurement was from the shelf as if the shelf was at the rest mounting hole since I shoot from the shelf.

All compound riser shelf designs are pretty much different, but the accessary mounting holes should be fairly close riser to riser.

It is also not critcal to have it exact distance as the sight will have vertical adjustment but I wanbted it close to what a compound spacing was from sight to rest.

Just to give you an idea, VT, my Fred Bear TRX measured almost exactly 1 inch to the center of the hole but my McPherson Bishop measure 1 1/8.

This sounds more like sjelf to rest mounting hole measurement. I know for a fact that its more then an inch or inch and 1/8...

I think Buckee has what I am looking for.

Thanks!!!! cool.gif
