Grilled Corn on the Cob

INGREDIENTS:

• Ears corn still in husks

• butter, softened

• salt and pepper

DIRECTIONS:

1. Peel back corn husks, remove and discard the silk and then soak the whole cobs in a pot of cold water for 15 minutes.

2. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil grate.

3. Remove corn from water. Place 1 tablespoon butter, salt and pepper on each piece of corn. Close husks.

4. Wrap each ear of corn tightly in aluminum foil. Place on the prepared grill. Cook approximately 30 minutes, turning occasionally, until corn is tender.

My buddy swears this is the way to eat corn, but I've never tried it. Takes too long I guess.

Maybe I'll try it this year. grin.gif

Doesn't really take THAT long. For a dozen ears, total prep time was probably 30 - 45 minutes (being really careful with the husks). Try it man! You'll love it. tongue.gif

I'll try it that way some day. I have abooooot 1/4 acre in sweetcorn this year, so I'll have lots to experiment with. cool.gif

That's awesome! You'll have to let me know how your experiments go. grin.gif

Re: Grilled Corn on the Corn

i nwever soaked my corn before i roasted them on the grill. i would take and open the stalks pull the hair as i call it and then lay the husk back around the cobb. then i would slowly cook on the grill and then when i was done i would pull back the husk and then dip the corn in the butter that i had melted and then went to town on it good crisp corn on the cobb and worth it;s weight in gold lol. makes me want to fire u p the grill now at 1:30 a.m. lol

You got corn, huh? I might be heading back to Ohio for a few days. I guess Dayton is a bit too far from you though, huh?

If you take I-70 to get over to Dayton, let me know. You're only about 20 miles from my house on the east side of Columbus.

Corn should be ready in about 3 to 4 weeks. wink.gif
