wtnhunt
Re: help needed There are some shade tolerant blends out there. Bet Todd will have a good answer for this one.
dogdoc
Re: help needed several companies now make shade tolerant mixes. I have had pretty good luck with red clover in shady areas. I'd try broadcasting a mix of ryegrain and red clover.

LETMGROW
Re: help needed Tominator is right. You have to at least bare the soil to get seed to grow. If you didn't rake the leaves the seed would simply sit on top of the leaves and never grow. Food plots require some work and thought. A little effort must be put into what you are trying to accomplish or you are just wasting time and money. No free lunch here.

bigbuckdown70
Re: help needed after you rake the leaves use a metal rake to work the soil after you broadcast your seed flip the rake over and go over it again (gently) to cover the seed clover only need 1/4 of soil over them
wtnhunt
Re: help needed Would definitely remove as much debris(leaves, rocks, and sticks) as you possibly can prior to planting.
