Jeramie
Ive been watching the rock chuckers on ebay. They go pretty high. They are still cheap in comparison to what youre paying around here. I bid on one auction last week and one this week. Both quickly went over 200. I let them go. I knew one was closing today so I pulled it up to see where it was at... It was at $220 or somewhere in there. With 55-seconds left I keyed in $235.00. It came back immediatley and said, "Youve won!" The good news, it already has the dies I need (.243, .30-06)! I get this thing and im good to go! I think I did pretty well.... Here is the listing. iron buck
Re: OH BABY! RockChucker, Here I come! Congrats on the new toy! I got mine as a gift from one of my clients. Handloading has become a fun hobby. Good luck
OJR
Re: OH BABY! RockChucker, Here I come! That is a good buy! Now all you need is a neck-sizing die for the '06 & 243! That way you won't have to full length resize all the time. Your brass will last longer and you should get better accuracy! IMR 4350 is a great powder for the 30-06! Have fun reloading! It is habit forming. I have been doing it for over 50 years!!
AJ
Re: OH BABY! RockChucker, Here I come! Congrats! I hope shipping is not too bad. Technically, the sender can not send the powder and primers as they are considered hazzardous. There is a $20 surcharge for them.
Gator
Re: OH BABY! RockChucker, Here I come! Now all you need Jeramie is a die for .270, and I will keep you busy!!!
Jeramie
Re: OH BABY! RockChucker, Here I come! Nope, shipping is $28. He was good to me. I asked in advance and he told me $25. After I provided the Zip he told me it would be a little higher... I can live with that. Hey Jason, you can pic up a die on ebay for roughly $10. Keep your empties. Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: OH BABY! RockChucker, Here I come! Don't forget you'll need shell holders, a powder scale, funnel, shell holder blocks, reloading manuals, a few other odds and ends, and I prefer a hand priming tool over the one built into my press. Good luck, sounds like you got a good deal.

too_pointer
Re: OH BABY! RockChucker, Here I come! Is there much difference $$ in between the 2 ? I am trying to talk myself into buying a reloader. I reloaded duck and bird loads for many , many years, and kinda miss it. I have never reloaded for large game, but it sounds like fun. too_
AJ
Re: OH BABY! RockChucker, Here I come! The RCBS standard dies for most popular chamberings are about $26 or so. The Redding dies run about $30.

Jeramie
Re: OH BABY! RockChucker, Here I come! I bet you can get them pretty cheap off Ebay. RCBS dies often sale for $10. If you can find the Redding I bet they arent much more.... Im going to have a look see in a bit (for a .270).
AJ
Re: OH BABY! RockChucker, Here I come! Now lets see how long it takes you to go through the different stages of reloading: 1. Intimidated by reloading - I don't shoot enough to reload. I don't have a place to reload. It's dangerous. Blah Blah Blah. 2. Newbie - I will buy the cheapest thing I can find to see if I like it. 3. Interested - Now, I will upgrade or get decent equipment. Wish I would have done this int he beginning. 4. Fanatic - I love to reload! I shoot more just to have something to reload. Wish I would have started sooner! 5. Gadget Man - I need more tools for reloading. 6. Competitive - I shoot a lot so I have to reload a lot. Upgraded equipment is a must. Progressive tooling or extreme precision is a must. 7. Bored - Reload occasionally just because. 8. Hastle - I have to reload more shells???!!! I just loaded a couple boxes just a year or so ago. 9. Nagged - You hear "You spent so much money on that reloading equipment and all it does is sit there and collect dust." 10. Had enough - Sell the equipment on E-Bay to the next poor guy and shoot factory ammo.

too_pointer
Re: OH BABY! RockChucker, Here I come! O.K., I have read enuff. I also plan on getting back into reloading. I reloaded shotshells for more than 10+ years, mainly for ducks and geese. I left around the time when they demanded that us steel shot ! Now, it will be for centerfire shells, maybe some 20 ga.shells. I know how dificult it was trying to find Win. AA.20 ga. empties. Especially now that the cheaper hulls are made of steel, and not reloading from what I hear. The biggest empties of the .270's ands 25-06 are Remington Core-Lokt's. Do these hulls reload fine ? I'm not sure if they are available from Rem. as once fired hulls ? Thanks for your opinions and advice Mike
