Maybe there could be something like a Frappr map built into the site with a national map with member locations. I have seen a few forums where you can see a balloon for each member which has a link to their profile-that would be pretty cool...

i am pretty sure we have a frapper map somewhere, but i have no clue where the link is.

Is there any chance we will get another contest, like the site hunt. I think i remember someone saying we will get something like it in the near future, but it's been awhile now and theres nothing. I also like the idea of seperate states forums. Or at least forums for different regions, that way theres not 50 new forums stacked on at the bottom. New smileys would be great. Animated ones would be even greater.

Re: IMPORTANT THREAD

OK i just now got another thing!

I just hit the reply but a few minutes ago to reply to a message!

One thing I would like to see when you hit the reply button is a BIGGER WINDOW to type in. When Im typeing a long message I have to scroll up and down just to read what I typed. Or even when im doing a qoute.

I just would like a larger window to type in.

On the quick reply i think that window is fine, Im just talking about the reply window!

Does this make sense? LOL

Re: IMPORTANT THREAD

Since this is mostly a hunting forum, I would like to see more questions and answers from the Real Tree Pro Staff on the web site. There are 50 different hunters who could be answering questions from the hunting community. There are a lot of hunters who cruise through these sites looking for information not just a place to chat.

If Q&A is not possible more columns from different writers on specific topics, ie scent control, using scents as attractants, patterning deer, scouting scrapes and rubs, etc.. Something the reader could use in his or her hunting.

Re: IMPORTANT THREAD

What about a review section on products we have used so we can pass on information we know about them. As long as it does not become a bash session it would be good to know what our fellow Realtree members think of something before we spend the cash. Archerytalk.com has a review section on products and its great to see the feedback. A section where we the forum member post our own experiences.

I don't like the big black strip on the right part of the screen, I miss the little dude that could roll his eyes, he's better than this guy ----> smirk.gif. I miss seeing in red how many posts have elapsed since your last visit, that was a cool feature, I liked the direct link to a member's photo page too.

Overall I like the site and wouldn't change too much.

I'll 2nd that. Overall I like the site but sure miss the rolleyes face and the other things Chris mentioned as well as some other issues mentioned here too.

Re: IMPORTANT THREAD

Scott,

Overall I think the Realtree site is very well put together, with one exception. There are way too many photos of Mikey Waddle and I think you could have some of very handsome men who are into the outdoors, such as myself for instance. Travis (T-bone) can attest to this if you don't want to take my word for it. We also have the same dental care provider! (T-bone and myself, not Travis)

If you are interested, please let me know and I'll be glad to forward photograghs to your office. Thank you.

Re: IMPORTANT THREAD

1. Some kind of marking or some way of knowing that you have posted in a thread. Like a dot. I've seen it in a lot of other forums.

2. No more black space on the side.

3. No more drop down menus.

4. Don't make too many more rooms. I like it the way it is.

Re: IMPORTANT THREAD

I realize that this will sound critical, but I assure you, I don’t mean it to be taken that way.

I think the photo posting room could be made a lot more user-friendly than it is at the present time.

I see no reason for so many categories for posting a photo.

Each photo could simply be located in the individual member’s photos, and that would be enough.

It seems to be confusing to me and some other members as to what category to post a photo.

(example) A photo of a member’s friend with his deer, posed with his muzzleloader and his dog, along with his 4-wheeler.

If we are discussing hunting deer in the forums, and someone wants to show a photo of the muzzleloader his friend used to kill the deer; he must decide whether to place it in Hunting/deer, Hunting/family & friends, Hunting/dogs, Black powder/general black powder, Firearms/general firearms, or Hunting/General hunting.

If the discussion were going towards 4-wheelers, the same picture may have a category chosen such as Miscellaneous Images.

If the member picks a category that makes perfect sense to him, but does not fit what the photo moderator thinks is the right category; the photo is moved, never to be seen again.

There are other examples I could give, such as a dog that is purely not a hunting dog, so the member places it in the misc. category. Then it is moved to the Hunting/dog category and is never to be seen again under the original post.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I feel there is no need for categories.

If I wanted to search for dog breeds, I would simply go to Google Images, and have hundreds of thousands of photos to look at, not just the 178 hosted here.

By eliminating the categories we would not have to look at so many dreaded red-x’s.

No one that I know of likes to see the dreaded red-x in one of his post.

I only ask you to look again, and see if there is a viable way to simplify, possibly using the age old KISS Method.

Thanks for your consideration of ideas.

Re: IMPORTANT THREAD

Here is one...lose that dang

Hosted Free at Realtree.com tag on the bottom of the pics. In order to enter a nice pic into the photo contest, you have to host the pic elsewhere so you don't have that logo on the bttom muddying up the image. We are all trueblue Realtree Fans, and I realize it is a form of advertising, but I am in favor of scrapping it so scenery pics look like scenery pics...not billboards. grin.gif
