VermontHunter
That's it !! I most definately won't be buying anything from SEARS/Craftsman any longer... Less than a year ago, I purchased a TOP END 1/2" drive Micro Tourque Wrench from SEARS specifically for tourqing the wheels on my truck and the wifes car, because they both have Alloy Wheels.... When I purchased this Tourque Wrench it wasn't even in a package it was hanging there in one of those black J-Hook clips like most of their tools are... this thing cost me $139.00 Well the other day I went to check my nephews lugs on his truck,,, YEP,, it broke.... So I had the wife try and exchange it for a new one,,, guess what ?? Sears says it was only warrantied for a year,,, and since I NO longer have the receipt I'm out of luck,, so I took it back myself, and got the same reply.... I then asked what happened to Craftsmans claim of a lifetime warranty,, and was told it didn't apply to Tourque Wrenchs, and he showed me one that was in a plastic case that said so,,,,, so I explained to the sales person mine didn't come in a plastic wrap like that.... ,, he proceeded to tell me it was a NEW thing from Craftsman implimented not long ago.... I argued to NO avail..... So guess what,, now Im the proud owner of a worthless piece of you know what.... I'll be saying hellow to Mr. Snap-On very shortly,, and good-Bye crappy Sears forever..... OK I'm done ranting now....

[/ QUOTE ] Nope, not a new thing.... I went through the same thing about 10yrs ago. I raised quite a rukus in the store that day. They finally gave me a new wrench just to get me to leave. I haven't been back to Sears for anything since. hangunnr
VermontHunter
Re: BIGTIME Ticked at SEARS [ QUOTE ] I thought that all Craftsman tools had lifetime warrenty that sucks [/ QUOTE ] That's what I thought too, Lewis.. This is why I invested that much into this tool,, if I had known this when I purchased it,,, I would have bought a Snap-On, which is warrantied for life..... Sears won't be getting any of my business for anything from here on in..... I'm still steaming over this....

dogdoc
Re: BIGTIME Ticked at SEARS sorry for your experience. I've always been a big fan of Craftsman tools--that's about all my dad bought when I was a kid and most my tools are craftsman including several power tools. they should have taken care of you. todd

Guest fishermanwhohunts
Re: BIGTIME Ticked at SEARS That's odd, My dad once brought in a ratchet that was older than me old, and they replaced it, even though they didn't know whether it was purchased off a rack or in a package. What was more expensive, the one in the package or the one on the rack.
buckee
Re: BIGTIME Ticked at SEARS I've done a lot of shopping over the years with Sears. Up until last year ago that is. What happened to me, was I over paid them on my last payment 2-1/2 years ago, by $250. I got about 6 monthly statements after that saying I had a credit of $250, and then they stopped sending me statement for over a year. I figured, no problem, I'll wait until they get some good camo in there, and use my $250 credit to pay for most of it. Then one day last spring (I think it was) I finally get a statement in the mail, saying I had a credit of $80 I phoned them right away to find out what happened to the rest of "MY MONEY". The lady on the phone basically told me that they weren't a bank and that they have been charging me to hold my credit. I was so mad, I was speachless...slammed the phone down...cup up my Sears card, and said goodbye Sears forever. I feel better now too
6sixpoint_nobrows
Re: BIGTIME Ticked at SEARS wpw....thats some deal...Snap-on tools are the best...you should have started with them a long time ago...that isnt fair they robbed you like that...but unfortunatly it happens all the time...and nobody does anything about it...if i was you i would try and talk to somebody high up if you feel like bother with it...but if not....in the words of one of my Brothas..."You Got, Got''..but seriously i would really try talking to someone high up there and give them a ear full and see what happens.. Guest fishermanwhohunts
Re: BIGTIME Ticked at SEARS I have to appologize to any people from Illinois people on here and I'm sure that what I'm about to describe does not describe Illinois hunters. Over here in Iowa it seems as if if you see anybody with driving with Illinois plates, they are driving like jerks. Since they drive like jerks, it's more likely they are jerks. Sears is in Illinois. I'm guessing that is mainly those from norther Illinois.

AdvantageTimberLou
Re: BIGTIME Ticked at SEARS maybe you can call Sears and explain it, sometimes you get sales associates at stores who don't want to take the extra effort to please the customer. I have dealt with some crappy sales people but gone to another city with the same store and they were more than happy to accomodate me. Maybe try another Sears store or call or email them. Good luck! VermontHunter
Re: BIGTIME Ticked at SEARS I just can't figure out coperations these days,, they have NO loyalty to thier customers these days, none at all... they sure like our money, but when it comes to making thier customers happy most of them just turn thier backs on ya..... If a customer walks into my store with some product they bought there and is unhappy with it,,, I don't even ask what the problem is or was, it just gets exchanged or thier money gets refunded,, NO questions asked... I do everything in my power to make sure they leave thinking they were special... I know it's just a simple tool,,, but hey Craftsman is the one that brags about thier quality and uncondition warranties on thier tools and products,,, not me.. I found thier coperate email address last night and they will be getting a very disgruntaled email from me when I get home from work this afternoon.... wtnhunt
Re: BIGTIME Ticked at SEARS [ QUOTE ] I thought that all Craftsman tools had lifetime warrenty that sucks [/ QUOTE ] Nope, actually craftsman power tools and air tools have as long as I can remember not had lifetime warranties, however all their hand tools did. Luke, would think you might have some luck if you call the number for sears customer service and explain to them. Some stores especially smaller ones will not work with you on warranty craftsmen itmes. We have a store here locally I will not deal with, I drive 3 times as far to go the store at the mall. Snap on has great tools, but if a snap on man does not have a route near you, it can be a pain getting tools replaced there too.
VermontHunter
Re: BIGTIME Ticked at SEARS I called thier 800 number to NO avail yesterday, and got the same story from them as well..... They told me how sorry they were, but offered NO solutions to resolve the issue,, the Supervisor I finally got to talk to,, only had his head focused on thier NEW return policy on Crafstmans hand tools.... ,, and wouldn't deviated from it.... Im beginning to think they have that thing pre-recorded in their skulls.... I have access to a couple Snap-On saleman in my area... .... A Mac Tools distributor also.... wtnhunt
Re: BIGTIME Ticked at SEARS Guess I was lucky with my last experience with their cutomer service. Had a jigsaw I bought new, that was used. Ended up with a new saw, and an extended warranty and they refunded my money for the purchase. Newarcher
Re: BIGTIME Ticked at SEARS Rainman was before his time.....Kmart sucks but only because they were bought by Sears. I absolutely hate the place....will never buy anything from them again. The old addage is that Sears has been trying to go out of business for 30 years but their customers won't let them. E-mail them and I bet that will get something done. I'm checking for an address for you now, hang on...
