ODH
just curious to how many acres you guys get access to hunt each year? Not just the ground you hunt, but all the acres of land you hunt on. Not counting state ground, just private property. I estimate that I have access to somewhere around a 1,000 acres to hunt on.
maddhunter
Re: how many acres? I would say somewhere around 1500-2000 acres devided up between about 7 different places close by. I don't hunt near all of it every year and some of it only during turkey season.
tedicast
Re: how many acres? Private property, I have 19 acres. I have one 7 acre property, and one 12 acre property. But, I also hunt some productive state lands .
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: how many acres? 80 acres in one county, about 20 in another. My buddy owns both pieces and lets me hunt them. I really thank him for the oppotunities!!

GWSmith
Re: how many acres? 384 acres of privately owned property... approx. 75% + of which is wooded, with multiple streams/creeks, the rest is ussually in corn. This year it looks to be planted in Alfalfa.
kidd
Re: how many acres? i have 20 acres behind my house which 5 is mine 7 is my brothers and the rest is the neighbors, then we own 27 acres in a southern county so i am fortunate to have +/-50acres
Guest wildotter
Re: how many acres? 120 of my family's land, 300+ from part of my wife's family, and another 40 from the rest of her family
wtnhunt
Re: how many acres? Our private property behind the house. Got a total of about 90 acres we hunt on. Have permission to hunt a farm up the road that is a couple hundred acres, but that farmer lets anyone hunt his land.
MUDRUNNER
Re: how many acres? One spot is about 100 acres and all timber with a big creek running right through the middle. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to get there from the house. When I go up there I usually stay for a couple of days since we keep an old trailer up there. This spot is mostly for shotgun season. Another spot is about 25 acres, but only about 5 of that is wooded, and it's only a 20 minute drive from the house,so that is where I do most of my bowhunting. This year I also have a spot of about 120 acres down in southern Illinois which is also about 1 1/2 hour drive.About half of this is timber and it's a bowhunting only spot for me and two buddies. Adjam5
Re: how many acres? We have 62 acres that backs up to a old ski resort and golf course that has been closed down since the late 60's. That land is like over 500 acres. We hunt that land for everything except deer. We stay on our own land for deer season.
Tominator
Re: how many acres? I'm the luckiest dude alive when it comes to that. Thanks to Realtree I met Ohiobucks who is the steward to over, gosh, it has to be 3,000 acres of prime land. I typically hunt with him and a few other guys on the weekends. Outside of the weekends I have access to a lot of land too, well over 20,000 acres, but 95% of that is tilled, and not nearly as productive as the stuff I hunt with Tom. Mirage
Re: how many acres? I hunt a farm tbhat is 200 acres or so but only 20 acres are wooded the rest are field for the farmer. I also just got access to another 30 acres same farmer, all hardwoods. The 20 acres backs to from the 20 backs to another 60 or so that is someone elses property and i cant hunt that he leases it to hunters for a high price. Jeramie
Re: how many acres? At least 2200 and possibly 3200 total. Ive never looked for more. My grandparents have roughly 1300 acres and some of my brother in laws family let me hunt too. I know they have over 1000 but im not sure exactly how much. If I had to guess Id say more like 1800. Guest ILclimber
Re: how many acres? Dad and I have about 1000 acres to hunt on. There are about 3 different pieces of land that contain these 1000 acres. I would say its about 60-40 when it comes to timber-crop. We are very fortunate, it's usually Dad and I for bow season, and about 7 or 8 other guys for gun season.
