Moved to Huntsville, AL

Some may have remembered a few weeks back that I was moving to Joplin, Missouri. I drove out there on a tues. Started looking for house and found one to rent on wed. The landlords wanted a credit check, so that delayed the "ok" until thurs. Well my wife called on wed evening at the hotel and said a lady needed verification paperwork of my military service for a job in Huntsville, AL. I called her on thurs. She was off that day and was scheduled back on fri. The landlord called thurs. afternoon and said I wasn't broke and I could move in "anytime" (meaning now). I told her let's do the paperwork and sign a contract on fri. noon (delaying the employment verification). Well I talked to the job lady 1st thing fri. morn upon her return and she verified I had a govt job in Huntsville. So I declined the rental house, said okay to the job in Alabama, and packed up and drove back to SC! confused.gif It took a month of time to get security stuff done (and no pay), but now I am 5-6 hrs from family instead of 14-15. So I'm in a hotel tonight moving into an apartment tomorrow. My wife and kids have school issues to fulfill in SC and will follow me in a year or two, but at least I can see them on more weekends than I would have before. So it's time to start scouting some new ground for bowhunting! grin.gif

It's amazing how just a few hours can change your life. Had I signed paperwork in MO, things would be different now. I read a saying somewhere that kind of matches this scenario: "the early bird may get the worm, but the 2nd mouse get's the cheese!" Things change so quick. I have found Alabama has alot more involvement in 3d's and bowhunting than SC. So I'm happy!!!!! grin.gif

And since I HAD to drive by the Bass Pro in Atlanta, I redeeemed some credit card points and got a free RT shirt, thermocell holster, headlamp, and some jerky for the trip! grin.gif
