mosscamo
Re: my first european mount pics well, i don't really have a link to give, sry. I just browsed the net and found out a lot of different ways to do it and then i took parts off all the different ways. it took about 3 1/2 to 4 hours to boil the head down after i had skinned it. u have to make sure the antlers are not in the water, otherwise they can discolor. u have to boil and scrape, boil and scrape, boil and scrape, until all of (or at least the vast majority) meat and flesh is gone. Here's a hint: when u skin the deer head before u boil it down, cut off as much meat as u can. i then bleached it in a hydrogen peroxide and water mix for between 30 min to an hour. That's about it. any more questions, be sure to ask!

mosscamo
Re: my first european mount pics i used one 32 ounce bottle of the regular 3% hydrogen peroxide that u can buy at the grocery store. i added it to a water mix until it covered the skull and then i boiled it for like 30 minutes or a little longer to bleach it and get rid of some final stench. it worked really well. sasksheds
Re: my first european mount pics Do what mosscammo says, but do not use bleach. It will turn chalky.I dont even use peroxide anymore.A big trick is after boiling use a pressure washer on & inside the skull to help remove all the meat, nasal membrane,etc... But do not hit the horns with the spray.U will wash the color right off your horns. It is great for all the little holes in the skull.heres a pic of one of my whitetails that I did last year.No bleach,no peroxide, just boiled, scraped & used a pressure washer. deer huntin k-man
Re: my first european mount pics While deer hunting last week i came across a moose skull that still had one of its antlers still on it and was thinking of doing this. I now have decided to do it but now im on the search for a pot big enough to fit a moose skull in it. Now that might be a little difficult. Wish me luck

mosscamo
Re: my first european mount pics in my opinion i would mount it without the bottom jaw. i think that it looks much better without the jaw. try that and i think u'll agree.
