I was hiking yesterday and got home and the bottom of my right heel, towards the inside (medial) is sorel ike I bruised it. I know I'm suppose to be the one who majored in athletic training, but I'm not really sure what I should do, except maybe ice it. And I'm planning to go fly fishing later, lol wink.gif Just wondering if anyone knows what I'm talking about?

Re: Anyone ever have this?

I was playing basketball with my friends son about 2 1/2 months ago Ruth, and I woke up the next day with the same pain, but more toward the center of the heel. It has been botheing me ever since. ibuprofin seems to work, as does wearing good shoes. It still kills me to walk barefoot, and it hurts most first thing in the morning. I've just been dealing with it, hoping it goes away.

There is a tendon that goes down the back of your calf. I been having this problem for years, doctor told me to stretch this with a towel. Put the towel over the front part of your foot and pull back to stretch. I have the same thing in the morning or when I am sitting for a period of time.

Hey Life NRA, that's your Achilles tendon I believe:) The pain is more on the bottom of my heal, kind of where the side of my ankle meets my heel, kinda weird. Thanks guys! Oh Tedicast, almost sounds like you have plantar faschitis from your description, maybe I'm wrong, but that is the first thing that popped in my mind when I read your reply:)
