muggs
This has to be one of the best divisions in recent years. The Twins have won 13 of their last 14 games...and have not gained any ground on the Tigers who have won 11 of their last 14, and the White Sox who have won something like 9 of their last 11. I really wish my Tribe could transfer to the AL west.
Tominator
Re: The AL Central The tigers have two things going for them, Pudge and Leland--that's it. Pretty sure they will crumble soon. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: The AL Central [ QUOTE ] The tigers have two things going for them, Pudge and Leland--that's it. [/ QUOTE ] they have way more going for them than those two...how about the Pitching staff?? ERA, most Saves, most Shut outs, and holding opponents to the lowest batting average...are all the best in the Majors....everyone on that team contributes...even the backups and a few of the guys that have been called up and been playing great....they'll be in the playoffs
MCH
Re: The AL Central Verlander is quite possibly the best young pitcher in the last 20 years. His stuff is awesome. Once he gets some experience under his belt, the kid could be a multi- cy young award winner. I don't see them crumbling anytime soon. The Central is loaded but even if they come in second in their division, the wild card will be from the Central so they'll be in.
muggs
Re: The AL Central Yup, Tigers have alot more than that going for them than just Leeland- even though he's the main reason for their sucess. Their pitching is solid and signing Kenny Rogers was a great move. Maroth and Verlander are studs too. They've had a lot of talent the past few years, they just couldn't stay healthy. Now that have Magglio Ordonez playing like he used to, and they have a good lead off hitter in Granderson they'll be around for a playoff run. They're legit IMO. Guest woodsnwater
Re: The AL Central It's a long season but the Tigers do seem to be the real deal. Good to see new teams compete for the Title now & then.

buckbuster11
Re: The AL Central The Tigers are for real. I think they have the best ERA in baseball, solid lineup plus they get to play the Indians a bunch. That can only help their record.

And the good news is the next 3 series are against the White Sox, Tigers and Mets.

JJL
Re: The AL Central I sure hope that the Tigers can keep it up all season, the White Sox will be there with them all of the way................ Then either the Red Sox of Yankees can stay home for the playoffs and the Eastern Sports Programming Network (espn) can shut their rotten pie-holes as well.... These ALC guys are tearing things up and it's good to see............
