Considering moving to A/C/C

I've almost done with my supply of aluminum arrows,, I'm considering trying Easton A/C/C arrows instead,, just not sure what shaft size to pick. MUCH cheaper for me to order on line and fletch myself then having my local pro shop do it. I presently use xx75 2314,, is there a cross reference or something as to which A/C/C shaft size it best?

Like always, any suggestions or input is highly appreciated..

Thanks

Ray

A/C/Cs are great. I shot them for at least the last 12 years. I think technology has caught up with them though. I believe Easton could price them a lot better to keep up with other arrow manufacturers. My supply got to the point of having to buy more or switch. I went with the Gold Tip XT Hunters and I couldn't be happier. You should really look at some more arrows before sinking that much money into them. But, they are the best arrow made in my opinion.

Are you willing to spend $130 for a dozen of arrows that can and do bend?

Why not? People spend that much on carbon arrows that can, and do get the spine shot out of them and break......

Sounds like you are most likely going to need a 3-60. You will never, ever be sorry you switched to A/C/C's. Simply awesome arrows!

They are great arrows.

Shop around for prices might I add though.

I shot them until I hit some hard times and then went to a cheaper yet good all carbon arrow.

I may go back in the future.

Here in SC, they are going for $170-$180 a dozen fletched. That is the only reason I got away from them. If they were more comparably priced, I wouldn't have thought about changing.

Re: Considering moving to A/C/C

i use to shoot them there a good arrow but worth the price in my opion there are a lot better arrows out there these days for a fraction of the cost i would shop around for a while before decideing think of it this way if you buy a dozen and loose a few over the summer and need a few more in the fall and are not really happy with them any way but have to much invested in the first dozen to switch to another brand if i was you i would go on ebay buy a few and try them if you like the resaults buy a dozen good luck

The only carbon arrows even close to that price range are target arrows. I have yet to break a carbon arrow on impact. ACC's are proven to be a good arrow, but I think you'd be just as pleased with something much cheaper that is either straight or broke. wink.gif

Re: Considering moving to A/C/C

I have to agree with all of you, price is huge difference, for what I'l lpay for 6 A/C/C I can get a dozen Gold Tip XT ,, I think I'll switch to carbon, Gold Tip being my choice, if A/C/C even do come down in price, I'll try them. At least if I re-site for carbon, any adjustments for A/C/C should be minimal.

Thanks again to all who contributed,,

REALLY appreciat it!!

Straight or broken is merely a myth. Carbon arrows can, and do, sustain damage that can't be seen. While I agree that there are some darn fine carbon arrows out there for less money, no question about that.

I'd be willing to bet a half dozen A/C/C's that someone who shoots carbon arrows well, suddenly isn't shooting so well, would miraculously be back in style by purchasing new arrows. Carbon arrows, especially the less expensive ones, are notorious for having the spine shot out of them. It's inside the arrow, you can't see it, but it breaks. Suddenly a consistent shooter isn't so consistent.

Good point, I read something similar at another forum,, I remember because the exact same thing happened to my brother in-law,, like I said, I think I'l make to switch to carbon now buy buying some GoldTips, but in mean time I'll find way to make some extra $$ and save up from some A/C/C,

Re: Considering moving to A/C/C

yeah, I just shot some ACC's last week, very nice, but I also shot the Carbon Tech Whitetails. These arrows are sweet! Look around though, it's all personal preference. I believe you can get a dozen CT Whitetails for around $90, shafts only. Well good luck finding the arrows. It's getting to be crazy these days with all the different brands to choose from. Just shoot around and you'll find what you like!
