Squirrelhunter91
So.. if you saw the pics of the two 8pt bucks we saw all of last summer, you will understand the importance of this pic to me. These two bucks disappeared on us last year, to where we have no idea. Not many places for suburban deer to go. But they found a way to avoid us last season. What do you guys think of this pic? It seems to me that one of them will be a high racked 8pt or better and the other will be a wide 8pt or better.

wtnhunt
Re: Mama Mia!! Suburban Bucks!! Nice bucks and pic there Joe. Maybe those guys will not be quite so elusive this year and you or your father will get a chance on them.
Tominator
Re: Mama Mia!! Suburban Bucks!! I don't know how you can definitively say those are the same deer as last year, but I guess you have your method. Deer around these parts put on a lot more antler from year to year. Those would be 1 year olds around here. I'd agree that both of them will be 8ptrs though.
Squirrelhunter91
Re: Mama Mia!! Suburban Bucks!! Chris, it is suburbia. There aren't many places for the deer around here to go. Either they are in the woods behind our house, in another patch of woods in the next town over that we have seen them in or they are on a Catholic High School's property. All places are within a mile of the woods where we see them. You have to know how they travel through the woods.
Guest whitetailarcher
Re: Mama Mia!! Suburban Bucks!! You need to figure out where they were hiding last year because apparently it worked for them.
Adjam5
Re: Mama Mia!! Suburban Bucks!! Where they hide in the brushy swamp bottoms is unacessible to humans. We have a old reservior behind our house and a portion of it is swampy. You can tell the deer are in it come october/november cause you can see the mud lines on their legs. We are hoping these deer are the same 2 from last year. I don't know for sure, we did not find their sheds. We looked hard too. As Joe has said, there are few places for them to travel, but apparently enough places to keep my arrow from their lungs The largest buck I saw last year with a bow in my hand, I killed it. It was a 6pt non typical that was walking on 3 legs. We have some very old oaks back here and we all know how deer love those akins We will see... Meanwhile we are getting great entertainment from these deer coming by every night and not to leave out high expectations
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Mama Mia!! Suburban Bucks!! That is why they get those racks like that, they know where to hid and when its safe to come out. A buck can survive in the suburbs, small woodlots work well for them because no hunting pressure. The deer here are not of the borealis or dakota deer subspecies, and they just dont seem to grow antler as fast as in some other parts of the country. Adjam5
Re: Mama Mia!! Suburban Bucks!! From what I understand...Texans correct me if I am wrong , but a Texas heart shot is a bullet right above the tail and driven up into the vitals from behind.
