RangerClay
Here is the update that some of you asked for. Joann was diagnosed with Adies Tonic Pupil, the lesser of two evils and not the aneurysm. Thank you everyone for the prayers you sent out our way. We will keep you all in our prayers as well. RangerClay
Re: Thank you everyone [ QUOTE ] So what's next Ranger? Is this treatable? [/ QUOTE ] Treatable, well sort of.. It is incurable and she will live with it for the rest of her life. The disease effects everyone who has it differently Adeis the doctors say that it will definately effect her reading. They may take her off any allergy meds because antihisitimes contain pupil dilaters. This will really stink because she is an allergy sufferer. From what we have learned Joann may have picked up the disease 6 years ago when she got chicken pox and the pox spread into her eyes. The pollen count here in NY this year has been the worst I have seen in my 41 years. So she has been rubbing her eyes alot more and taken more meds than she normally does. This kicked the Adeis into high gear and here we are. The one thing the doctors said was that because my wife has blue eyes it will effect her more than someone with brown eyes. Brown eyes have more pigment in them. I must say that it is a strange disease. When I stare into my wifes pretty powder blue eyes and then staring back at me are pupils the size of dimes Then I will look back 15-30 minutes later and they are back to normal. Very strange indeed.
