DSGB
My buddy and I were bass fishing last Saturday and I caught a bowfin on lizard. Neither of us had ever caught one before. I was a little intimidated by the teeth at first, but I had to get a picture so I could identify the fish. Weird lookin' thing. Any of ya'll ever catch these things? Guest Andrea
Re: Bowfin They're not spooked that easily. In the shallower waters, they move around pretty slowly. If you see one...you can toss a bait out in front of it and he almost always turns towards it to inspect it. And if you're lucky.....he takes it. They're pretty much pigs....so they usually bite. They eat anything. Worms, crickets, spinner baits, topwater plugs, cut bait, liver, live bait....you name it.

Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Bowfin I caught one early one morning on a plastic worm during a tournament on Okeechobee that went about 10 lbs. Thought I had a monster bass on for a couple of minutes until I saw what it was.
