I know this is a ways off, but we plan on doing another one this year at our camp in the Adirondacks the first week-end in October. There will be some hunting, lots of shooting, 3-d course will be bigger and better this year, and lots of laughs and good times. This will be the 3rd annual NY Smackdown. The 1st week of october here in the so zone looks like it will be opening week for archery I am told. DEC is looking to move the date forward.Fingers crossed. How about something more along the lines of southern tier of NY. The Adirondacks is like a 6 hour drive for me. Something closer would be more appealing to me. But I am interested. Everyone I talked to says no go. That would be nice. Our camp is on the southern part of the Adirondacks. A 40 minute ride from exit 28 (Fultonville) of the NY Thruway. We did it a little earlier last year, and it was decided then, that no matter the season at home, we would migrate to Youker Road on or after October 1 - where bear AND deer & turks too maybe?) season was in. Last year we were there for bear only and I had a shot opportunity at 2 Adirondack Jakes and actually saw some deer.
