Strut10
13 consecutive losses.................worst in club history..........ever. It's a wonder the peanut vendor would even show up for a game.
buckbuster11
Re: How \'bout them Buccos??? They still had 23,000 last night, I wish people would stop going. And I hope they keep on losing right up until the All-Star break when the whole world will take notice of how bad they are and then maybe that will put enough pressure on the Nuttings and the rest of their moron ownership group to sell the team to somebody who cares and get the #$%$# out of here. At this point, I wouldn't go see the Pirates if they were playing in my back yard. The only way I can figure it is that those 23000 are people that had tickets given to them by the folks had to buy season plans to get All-Star Game tickets, but could care less about the Bucs. BTW............You actually bet that the Pirates would finish ahead of anyone??????? I thought you were a little more commonsensical than that. Moron. muggs
Re: How \'bout them Buccos??? John, normally I'd talk a lot of trash right now, but I don't want to stoop to Tominator's level. j/k Chris. Anyway, I really do feel your pain. The Dolan's are the cheapest owners on the planet. When Jacob's owned the Tribe, the free agent signings included Matt Williams, David Justice, Grissom, Roberto Alomar, Travis Fryman etc... Now we get Ed Perez and lord knows who else. Its a good thing Shapiro was able to bring in some young talent, but without spending cash, you just can't compete with the Yanks, Mets, BoSox's of the baseball world. Pittsburgh is a great sports town, and the fans would support a legit team...but hey, at least they're not the Marlins who build and then hold fire sales every 4 years. You could have a team that spends like the RedSox's, plays in one of the largest markets in the country, and still only achieves a .500 record at best every year...like........THE DODGERS!!!! They still have the best group of young guys they have had in a long time, it looks like they arent going to progress as fast as I thought. Oh well. MCH
Re: How \'bout them Buccos??? I really like Sanchez, Bay and Perez. Those are three young players to build around. I tell you one thing I noticed in the Dodgers/Pirates series, Bautista sucks in the outfield. I know of at least 4 balls that fell in because he read them wrong. McClouth must be struggling for them to keep him out there. BTW---nevermind about the Zach Duke trade, after watching them pitch, I'd much rather have Perez. Perez is freakin garbage. He just got booted out of the starting rotation. He is 2-9 with an ERA around 7.00. 2 years ago he was lights out and since then he isnt worth anything. Duke is head and shoulders better then he is. I'm not sure where you are getting the idea that Bautista isnt any good either. You must of just him during a bad series or something. That guy is a stud in the making. He can play 3rd, short, and all the outfield positions. Since Duffy went nuts and left, he has been by far the best centerfielder on the team. MCH
Re: How \'bout them Buccos??? You may be right, I may have just caught him on a bad series but like I said on several plays he just flat misplayed them. I really think Perez could turn it around at Chavez Ravine. It's a definite pitchers park and maybe a different scene would help him. As for Duke, I wouldn't mind having him, but ya'll would ask for more in return. buckbuster11
Re: How \'bout them Buccos??? Nothing can help Perez. He went from an upper 90's fastball and a wicked slider to a 90-92 mph heater and slider he can't throw for a strike 4 out every 5 starts. He is wild, inconsistent, walks to WAY to many guys, and still thinks he can overpower dudes with his heat, which he can't. Duke is more of a Greg Maddux type pitcher. He isnt going to blow you away. He mixes in a real nice curve with a couple fastballs he can spot dead on. Nothing flashy, but way more consistent, and will be way better in the long run. MCH
Re: How \'bout them Buccos??? Heck, Perez wasn't even hitting the 90's when he started against us. Scully said the he had been known to hit 98-100 but the fastest I saw on the screen was 88. Tell you what, how about we trade Perez's?? Odalis for Oliver?? Odalis is a deadbeat to our organization. We're going to get rid of him anyway. I hear the Buco's are sending Perez to Triple A. Maybe we can both get rid of troublesome pitchers and call it even??? Saying you won't bet on the Clowns, errr Browns is gutless. You can dupe Eric, but not me, not when it comes to the Clowns, (darn, keep doing that), Browns. Now, you might have a shot to win your Tinks back with a Buckeyes/Nittany lions bet, now that might be doable, but we'll have to see.
