Guest littlered
i'm going to pick up a new .22 pistol this summer but i'm not sure what to get. the only things it has to be is it has to be under $375 it has to be a .22 and it has to be a semi-auto. i would prefer a somewhat shorter barrel so i can pull it out of a holster pretty fast. i'll be useing it for plinking and i'll carry it for rabbit and woodchucks at close range. what do all of you guys think i should buy? popgun
Re: just for fun Colt CC5140 (bull barrel target) http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976731402.htm This was by far the most accurate (out of the box) handgun I have ever had. If you get one with too short a barrel you won't be able to hit rabbits and woodchucks, and if you should be able to hit a target as large as an elephant, you will only make him angry. p.s. Leave the quick draw to the old western movies. It isn't smart. It isn't safe. And it isn't accurate. ....popgun
WNY_Whitetailer
Re: just for fun Here's a vote for the Ruger Mk III Hunter...Sweet looking and it is a Mk III...Nothing but good things to say about the Mk series of handguns.
johnf
Re: just for fun I would look at these. Mark III Target Here's another one in stainless I have a Beretta Neos. I love the gun, but it's wide sights are not real conducive to real target shooting. I can keep about a 3" pattern at 25 yards with the obnoxiously wide open sights and a 2" pattern at 50 yards with a red dot. With my dad's old Mark I I can do about 3" at 50 yards with open sighs. We were poking squirels with it last week.

Guest littlered
Re: just for fun i like the look of the browning, i think thats what i'll end up with. popgun, just to let you know i wasn't talking snap shooting or anything like that, i just didn't want an 8" barrel that i had to pull out of a holster for a running rabbit,5 1/2" is what i want
hangunnr
Re: just for fun The Buckmark is a nice piece. I still have my first one. I would spend the extra bucks and get one of the models with the scope mount rib already on the gun, then at a later date you can toss a red dot or scope on it. hangunnr
Jeramie
Re: just for fun My money would be on a Walther P22. I bought one a while back and LOVE the thing. You can extend the barrel (overall length). They have a ton of things to customize, etc. Great little guns.
