need2hunt
I had a friend of mine in the Healthcare industry send this to me... I had a pediatrician tell me what she believes is the best way to remove a tick. This is great , because it works in those places where it's some times difficult to get to with tweezers: between toes, in the middle of a head full of dark hair, etc. Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and swab it for a few seconds (15-20), the tick will come out on it's own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away. LifeNRA
Re: Easy Tick Removal [ QUOTE ] Burn em!!! I'll have to try this method instead. [/ QUOTE ] Don't do that! I tried that on my brother one time with a cigarette. Killed it right in the skin! Finally got the head out with a needle and tweezers! A vet told me to use Vaseline, it will smother them and make them back out on their own. Just like the soap trick!

Newarcher
Re: Easy Tick Removal Just get your wife's melon baller and dig both the tick and the surrounding tissue out.....just to make sure you don't leave a leg or the head! If I have any doubt, I will just get a knife and dig out the surrounding tissue. Rather have a scar than lyme disease! New

Now if we could just get rid of the anticoagulant we wouldnt have to worry about itching the spot....

Once the tick gets into the blood, the spirochete (sp?) or whatever carries the Lyme disease is in your system in a matter of minutes! Maybe seconds!
