VTbowman Posted July 2, 2006 Report Share Posted July 2, 2006 I dabble in making my own bows from time to time and with all this rain we have been having I had some free time to not do yard work for a change. LOL Here is the hybred Hickory/Cherry Board bow I started last week out of a rough cut hickory board and some kindling scrap. I made a recurve style grip and shelf, limbs are flat 2" wide at fades to mid limb then tapperiing off the 1/2" tips, 64" long ntn, and is currently at 51#@24". This equates to about 66#@28"... Tillering is about 98% done. I am trying to get one strong enough for hunting as I feel it would be the ultimate goal to harvest a deer with a bow you made yourself. Here are a few pics.
