hangunnr
When my buddy retired and closed up his shop he offered me this AR at cost. I really didn't have any plans for a AR in 308 but the price was right so I took it. It started out life as an DPMS AP4 with a fixed A2 front sight and a six position retractable stock. I removed the front sight and added a new flat gas block. Also removed the butstock and grip. Added a MagPul adjustable buttstock and a Ergo grip. Another buddy gave me the Armalite scope mount. I haven't deceided what optics will ride it yet. The Pentax 3X9 is OK but leaves alot to be desired. ...AJ , tell me what's wrong with the gun in that picture. There is one problem I ran into when switching the buttstock and the internal components. hangunnr
Strut10
Re: New AR The only thing I see wrong with it is that there's not somebody behind it and a rainbow of spent brass coming from the ejection port. Sweeeet!!!
johnf
Re: New AR And it's not in my gun cabinet. That's a real problem.

AJ
Re: New AR Well, as it sits it might be a little hard to shoot the gun with that magazine installed. It may hit the rear leg of the rest. I also noticed that the bunny bag is 90 deg out of phase. Those are minor setup issues though. As far as the gun goes, I see the bolt is extending into the ejection port a bit. I have not played with the 308 AR guns but I am not sure if it will sit in that position while the bolt is locked back but it sure will (should) go farther back during recoil. [/ QUOTE ] Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner!!! The buffer is too long. I didn't have a proper buffer for a 308 so I tried one for a 223. Didn't work so well. The 308 buffer is about 6/10ths shorter than the 223. Got ahold of DPMS and got the proper one on it's way as I type. hangunnr
AJ
Re: New AR Cool, I learned something today. Thanks for the info! It does look like a fun toy to play with! Can't wait to see how it shoots with this setup.
