They stink dont gettem. I hated mine and it was a waste of my morning hunt and a waste of money. It lasted for all of 30 seconds and then there was no scent left in the can so I had no scent to hunt over they stink dont gettem.

Nope!

The archery range where I go got them last year...to expensive for my blood crazy.gif

Besides I have a half gallon of real buck and doe urine harvested from their bladders during field dressing frozen in the garage freezer.

This year it's getting hung up in a tree after camo taping the jug and poking one small hole in the bottom wink.gif

I want to create something that sprays like it but is reuseable and could use any brand of scent. I'm not telling any of you how it would work unless you work with me. wink.gifgrin.gif

I've used it several times and had deer come to it 4-5 times. No huge bucks, but I had 4 smaller bucks come into the can in one evening. They looked all confused but they hung around. One of my buddies killed a nice bear in Canada using one of their bear cans. I'll try them this year in VA and let you know how it goes.

you know what would work better and I am not sure why its not on the market yet, you know those air fresheners that puff out scent every so often. I think Glade makes them, how about some for hunting that you hang on a tree and make them in popular scents like doe urine, earth scent, etc.

If you can figure out how to put scent in the little bottle once they run out that may work, then again Glade could sell their idea to a Tinks or Wildlife Research Lab to make it like my idea.

As for the buck bomb, never tried it.

Never used a buck bomb and have no intetion of using one.

What I have used with great success is deer scent in a plant misting bottle. One or two squeezes on the bottle will carry a fine mist of deer scent with the air current. I usually spray from a treestand and the scent is carried down wind for a long ways.

I have no scientific proof of it but my experience tells me it works well.

Re: Does anyone use that Buck Bomb thing?

pdaddy,

I'm a little skeptical about the claim any company gets the deer urine from the same season (fresh). This company is based in Louisiana so they wouldn't be able to help me out. There is no way the deer in Louisiana are getting near the rut by the time I need it in Indiana or Minnesota (late Oct -Mid November). The only good that might be is if you lived close to the farm.

I've purchased deer urine before, like most people here. I accept the fact that it has been frozen for 10-11 months. There is no way that the popular brands are fresh either - it is impossible unless they are getting it from Canada or Alaska - and then by the time it gets processed, bottled and shipped - its too late. This place may have a good market with a 100 mile radius and I wish I had one close to my house.

I looked on their site - $860 per gallon for estrous urine. No thanks.

Storiale:

It is evident that you are a student of deer and deer hunting. Yes, left to mother nature, the southern whitetail deer normally cyle in Nov , Dec, Jan. So, your observation is correct, except:

Southern Whitetail Scents is also a breeding operation that AI's it's does with semen from northern whitetail bucks. With today's medical technology they are able to synchronize their doe herds cycles which enables them to artificially inseminate more than one doe a day. They use this technology (implanted CIDR's) to synchronize their does estrous for urine collection. This enables them to move the cycling period of their does up a least a month in comparison to the normal heat cyles.

Therefore, they have legitimate estrous urine ( with no preservatives) available for shipping as early as November 1st. That's why it works, it's the real thing!

Re: Does anyone use that Buck Bomb thing?

Most scent companies will use shorter lighting cycles and hormones to get their does to come into estrous before any in the wild herds do. I've used the Buck Bombs and found them to be a great way to saturate an area with scent. Although they spray out entirely immediately, the misting of the scent will allow it to travel a much greater distance than any other method. Also, the scent is not just "gone". It saturates the surrounding grass, brush, etc and will last the entire day if not longer. It's pricey, but it does work.

Re: Does anyone use that Buck Bomb thing?

I don't see any reason to use any scents, as long as you can patern a deer. Al scents do is make the big bucks more wary. Do you see any of the guys on realtree using scents, no!!!!

I used to use scents but found out they do more harm than good. I saw more deer that were less spooked with out the use of scents. I put out some scent and they get spooked.

Never worked for me!!!--rossman

I don't see them sight in their rifles or practice with their bows either on any of the videos. What can you derive out of that? LOL

I quit using deer scents many moons ago. My neighbor gave me a can "Doe P" last season and it worked like a charm as a doe with here nose in the air come looking for the doe p scent and walked straight to the can..... I wasn't going to shoot her but my buddy paid for it......soo booomm

Re: Does anyone use that Buck Bomb thing?

I tryed it last year and didnt have luck. I ran a scent trail with trophyadvantage a few days later and the buck took my muzzy as he was on the trail with his nose glued to the ground. Biggest one I have taken so far.
