HarvDog
I am entering a contest where the grand prize is a selection of 17 guns of my choice encompassing rifles, shotguns, pistols, revolvers, and black powder. I have made my selections but wanted to get some feedback before I submit so I am posting in the each of the Guns & Ammo forums. For reference, I currently own a Remington 870 12gauge pump shotgun, Traditions Sidelock 50cal black powder rifle, a Ruger GP161 357 magnum revolver, and a Springfield Armory XD SC 40S&W. Below are the selections with my choices in bold. Shotguns: Benelli Super Black Eagle II Auot in 12gauge Beretta 686 Onyx O/U in 12 gauge Beretta AL391 Urika Auto in 20 gauge Browning Gold Sporting Clays in 12 gauge Browning BPS Pump in 10 gauge Ithaca 37 Deluxe Pump in 16 gauge Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag Camo in 12 gauge Remington 870 Wingmaster in 16 gauge Remington 1100 Classic Trap in 12 gauge Ruger Red Label O/U in 12 gauge Stoeger Side-by-Side Coach Gun in 12 gauge Winchester 94210 Lever in .

johnf
Re: Gun Selections No offence Harvdog, but I can't imagine picking a wingmaster, although it's a very good gun, over the super black eagle. I've got a buddy with one of those, and it is by far the best shotgun I've ever shot, hands down.

Exturkinator
Re: Gun Selections Seems like your missin a 12 ga autoloader - so I'd agree with Chris on the SBE (before the Rem 1100 trap)

Only reason I say that is because I have the Montefeltro, and I love that gun.

I was actually hoping you would catch these post and give some feedback and your selections. My only question regarding your choices is: You would select the "Beretta 686 Onyx O/U in 12 gauge" over the "Ruger Red Label O/U in 12 gauge"? I don't know much about O/U shotguns so I'd like to get your thoughts.
AJ
Re: Gun Selections The Beretta will last a lot longer than the Ruger will. Its a much stronger gun overall. Look at the competition guys, you see a lot of Beretta guns. You don't see but a couple Rugers. There is a reason for that.
