Jeramie
Re: My New Bar B Q and Canada day Nice grill! I prefer charcoal but having the convienence of gas would be nice on occasion. [ QUOTE ] I always seem to get the BBQs that rust out in 2 years. I wonder how long it will last. They sure do look nice, don't they. [/ QUOTE ] Ive got the same problem. I bought a charcoal and smoker combo. Its great but already starting to rust. I had it covered for about 6-months and the wind keeps blowing of the cover... Not to mention you have to wait for it to cool to recover, etc. What a pain. Im just going to cover my back patio and fix the problem. GWSmith
Re: My New Bar B Q and Canada day [ QUOTE ] I always seem to get the BBQs that rust out in 2 years. I wonder how long it will last. They sure do look nice, don't they. [/ QUOTE ] The grill Doctor is in! You have to cure your grill when it's new! Also periodically afterwards, depending on the amount of usage, the average being somewhere between every 3-4 months. Making sure it's cleaned and dry...You spray the entire interior, including underneath where you put the charcoal, with vegetable oil. If it's a gas grill place a small amount of vegetable oil on a paper towel and wipe down the burners as well. Heat the grill to medium hot and allow to stay there for a minimum of 1 hour. If your grill has been painted on the outside Do Not Touch It during the curing process. When your grill is completely cooled...Cover it. You would'nt leave your hunting knife out in the weather and expect it not to rust would you? Also alot of people cook with a grill on heat thats way too high. That coupled with not cleaning it properly and curing it causes premature rusting. Doing this process will prolong the life of any grill for years! AdvantageTimberLou
Re: My New Bar B Q and Canada day only way to make that Bar B Q look sweeter Muff is to have some venison cooking on it! BTW: you look like you have a great family there, make sure you feed them well by using that grill!
