buckee
Some of you may remember the grass-ground-blinds that I like to make for deer-hunting every year. Here are some fresh pictures of the blind I made and some aged pictures of it after it's been out there a few months. I remembered that a few of you wanted to see how it looked after it aged a bit. 3legs, Wilfinator and myself took 5 deer from this single blind this year and all were from 10ft to 20 yards from the blind, unaware of our presence within. I really love these blinds and this particular one gets set up in the same spot year, after year, after year. It just happens to be one of the deers favorite crossing spots in the fence. While taking pictures of my blind the other night (same night I got my buck) I noticed that when 3legs shot his buck a couple nights before, he nicked the blind with some buck-shot...LOL I laughed when I saw that, because when he shot his buck, he had to lean back and shoot out the left-hand edge of the blind, because his buck was coming right down the fence-line toward him ..LOL That was a tough maneuver Ken
buckee
Re: Buckee\'s Grass-blinds ** When all you have is a grass fence-line to work with, these home-made blinds are the answer. Now if Realtree could come out with this pattern in a pop-up-blind, it would save me a lot of work...LOL

buckee
Re: Buckee\'s Grass-blinds ** Thanks for all the compliments guys. I appreciate it. It sure beats getting busted trying to sit in the shorter grass or trying to hide behind a fence-post.

Tominator
Re: Buckee\'s Grass-blinds ** very cool buckee. i made one too. i made mine out of the local weeds. mostly aster, blackberry, and goldenrod. it took me about 2 hours, and i still have some weaving to do. it's more work than i thought. i haven't taken a deer from it though--yet. Tominator
Re: Buckee\'s Grass-blinds ** [ QUOTE ] Ya got any pictures of it Bart ??? [/ QUOTE ] nope, not yet Sherm, but i will soon. my wife got me a digital camera, but i have to get around the security here at school to be able to post the pics. i made mine out of old fencing Aaron, the kind people use to back up split rail fences. it's kind of like chicken wire, but a bit more stout than that. next time you're in the sunbury area, stop in, we can push my field for a bunny/bird and i'll show it to you.
