Squirrelhunter91
Upstate on our land, we usually cut shooting/travel lanes in the fields with the drive around mower. So this past weekend I elected to do it because it would get me out of working around the house for a little while and I would get the land management chores done. so I go into the field and start cutting the usual lanes. Little did I know I had exposed a rabbit den. So I finish the lanes and come back a couple of hours later. My brother drove into the lane on the dirtbike and saw a clump of grass with fur in it. He curiously picked up the clump and found four baby cottontail rabbits in a little hole underground. So I grabbed the camera and took pics of them, cute little buggers, they don't even have their eyes open yet. Here are the pics: They were off to the right in this pic: This is what the den looked like covered: Look what's inside!!

Tominator
Re: Baby Rabbits... I ran over a den a few years ago and they were low enough they didn't get cut. Only 1 ran out. I picked him up, showed him to the kids and put him back in the hole, to which he ran out and ran straight into the deck bonking his head hard, then he ran headlong into the house bonking himself again. He was dazed after the second bonk so I picked him up again and he stayed put in the hole that time.
Buckslayer
Re: Baby Rabbits... Those are really cool pics of the nest... my parents usually have a nest under their deck every year, it is cute when they start running reckless all over at a young age.
