A guy I work with just had it done last week and he said that the worst part wasn't pain, but the "tugging feeling", that gave him an upset stomach during the procedure. Good luck if you do it, I will be in that club in the near future myself. I too have (2) little girls and (2) is enough for me. One of my friends neglected to continue to ice down as instructed by the doctor and he had a real hard time. My other friend had no problem but he knows the value of ice. Got three girls here buddy. The wife and I have talked several times and we are without a doubt done. We were talked out of her having her tubes tied when our last daughter was born back in November. Actually......the funny part was when the doctor came in to start the procedure and he came in with a needle that was so big it looked like a ROCKET. My husband quickly jumped off the table and pulled up his pants and in a not so nice fashion.....told the doc where HE could stick it. I thought the doctor was gonna fall over laughing. It is not bad at all. I was sore for a couple of days, but no big deal! In the long run, it is well worth it. My uncle had it done a while back, he had it done in Ottawa and he lives about 100 miles from the city. He drove himself there and home no problem. The doc just said to stop at a store and get a bag of frozen peas to sit on on the way home, he said there wasn't much pain at all. I wouldn't sweat it too much Joe. Good luck!
