johnf
Re: New Rifle What Do You Think? Supposed to be great guns and that's a good scope/ring combo. I hope you have a strong shoulder, that's too much gun for me.

VermontHunter
Re: New Rifle What Do You Think? Can you say, HANG ON !! ?? That mule is going to KICK... I've always loved the 700's, just NOT in the MAG version I have too small of a frame for those types of weapons... You definately picked out a great scope and ring combo.... Good Luck with the new rifle...

AJ
Re: New Rifle What Do You Think? The 700 is a decent gun. It does provide a good platform to do custom work on also.
slughunter
Re: New Rifle What Do You Think? I think that the 700 is a very good gun, I havent shot it but I have heard great things of it, and the scope selection its a good choice too -shane
bearcat
Re: New Rifle What Do You Think? Trigger, everyone keeps posting "Hang On" and "Ouch" etc. The .300 Win. Mag. does have some recoil, but it is not that bad at all. I have a .300 Remington Ultra Mag. in the 700 LSS and the recoil is very manageable. My nephew has the .300 Win. Mag. in the 700 ADL., which is a lighter gun than the LSS version. It only kicks a little bit harder than my 30-06's. Don't bother with porting or muzzlebrakes, your not shooting an elephant gun. Buy the gun, put the scope on it and ENJOY.
Jeramie
Re: New Rifle What Do You Think? Ive always been happy with the Rem. 700. They are more then accurate enough for the regular shooter. That should get the job done very nicely!
Strut10
Re: New Rifle What Do You Think? Sounds like a combo of gun & glass. I'll bet you'll be happy with it. Don't let the "magnum talk" scare you off. My sister (size 6) hunts with and shoots my .300's from the bench with full bore 180 gr. handloads. It ain't gonna hurt you.
