VTbowman
Re: how much is roundup? An acre is 43,560 square feet. I can buy a quart bottle of concentrated round-up for $14 at my local hardware store. It says to mix 1/2 qrt per 2.5 gallons of water in a sprayer. I mix the entire qrt in 2 gallons of water and get great results.
wtnhunt
Re: how much is roundup? An acre is roughly 430X100. You can buy glyphosate(roundup) in generic forms considerably cheaper than the brand name. I usually buy the eliminator brand from wal mart here for around $12-13. Think it is 41 percent glyphosate if I remember right, and is enough to make approximately 32 gallons.
Griz
Re: how much is roundup? We use Grazon here and always have great success rate with it. The reason for Grazon is because it's animal safe and it will do the same job as Roundup... We use this stuff in bulk. I also have a 25 gallon sprayer that I can strap onto a 4 wheeler for spot spraying. Here's the ratio for it that I use... 25gallon sprayer... 1 quart of Grazon 1 pint of Surf King or liquid Tide Soap The Surf King or liquid Tide Soap will keep the chemical on the plant. You want this to have at less a 2 or 3 hour drying time on it before any rain. Once it has that it won't wash off. Hope this helps... Griz... Tominator
Re: how much is roundup? I buy mine now at our local co-op. 2.5 gallons for $65. I mix it anywhere from 2 ozs. per gallon up to 6ozs. per gallon depending on what I'm trying to kill.
Rhino
Re: how much is roundup? VTbowman is right about there being 43,560' square feet in an acre. A square acre is 207.71' on each side if that's what you were wondering. The amount of mix you use per gallon is going to depend on the percentage of the mix. Spraying weeds we generally use 2.5 ozs per gallon of a the 43% roundup.

Tominator
Re: how much is roundup? A football field is roughly 45,000 square feet without the endzones, so yes, an acre of land is about the size of a football field. I've never sprayed that large of a field before, but I'd say you're gonna need about 25 gallons of water mixed with 50 ozs. of 41% roundup.
