colts1888
Re: Superbowl champion [ QUOTE ] Here's some other predicitons I'll make.... Indianapolis- Made a HUGE mistake by getting rid of Edgerrin James. They're one dimensional now, no way around it. Teams are going to watch the Steelers game and the Chargers game from last year and the Colts won't be anything like they were before. Again, they'll be lucky to squeak in to the playoffs. [/ QUOTE ] I have to disagree here of course. There is absolutely no way EJ is worth the price that Arizona paid for him. Resigning him for Indy would have meant they would have eventually lost Reggie Wayne/Freeney/Mathis and others. Simply not worth it for an aging RB with an injury history. Contrary to what most people believe, Edgerrin James as a running threat did NOT scare teams. Teams ROUTINELY dropped 8 or more guys in pass coverage last year. The reasoning is they would rather have EJ get his 3-4 yards and burn clock then have Manning light them up with big plays. The only thing the Colts may miss, is his ability to block. But they did draft the best pass blocking RB in the draft this year and have a veteran in Rhodes coming back as well. EJ was great at turning losses into 2 yard gains, he was also quite good at turning possible 60 yard game breakers into 5 yards. With the way teams get spread out defending the pass, any RB will succeed in that offense. Teams can look at the Steeler and Charger tape all they want, but if they havent got the personnell to duplicate it, they are in trouble. The O line was more of a problem in those games then anything else. The O line and defense will be far more important then the RB spot. muggs
Re: Superbowl champion [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Dude, he is already throwing footballs and playing in golf tourneys. All reports are he is ahead of schedule, and I just read an article on ESPN saying that his jaw is actually going to be stronger then it ever was and he might be one of the hardest people in the NFL to get rung up because of how strong his face is going to be. [/ QUOTE ] Now you're really killing me John. [/ QUOTE ] You asked for it. [/ QUOTE ] No I didn't.

It is weak in the bottom half but the Jags and Colts are both prettyy good usually. The Jags lost their number 1 reciever this offseason dont forget. He retired unexpectadly. Their running game isnt that good either, Fraud Taylor is always hurt.
