MuZZyMomentZ
The land that I am hunting on has been doing a deer management program for the past 4-5 years.(DMAPS) From the surveys that are conducted in the late summer to early fall we come up with the number of does that we need to take off. Surprisingly every year so far the number has been around 29 does. From a hunters perspective... its nice to have to harvest that many ladies every year. We do keep some of the meat but the rest we donate to sportsmens against hunger. We usually take about 5 bucks of the property every year all being at least 10-points or better. To this day we are seeing more bucks.. and bigger bucks because of this program. I guess my questions are.. does anyone else to management on there land? If so what kind? I also am hoping to plant a food plot for next year so any tips or advice on quality deer management can go here!
dogdoc
Re: Deer Management sounds like you guys have a great program going on. How much land do you have? You must have a high deer/sq mile ratio to need to kill 29 does a year. I don't see that many in 5 years! I do my own little management---harvesting only mature bucks on my land and providing warm and cold season food plots. Where are you located? I have had great luck using the blends from www.hamannfarms.com best of luck todd

So far we've killed one big 12pt and harvested 10 does between us. only 19 more to go!
