How the media portrays our troops

Im starting to get pretty daggum tired of the way the news media has been portraying our troops as of late. I cant remember the last time i heard about something good coming out of Iraq........and i assure you, there are good things happening there. The only time we hear a big story pertaining to our troops is when the news is reporting something damaging to them. I havent heard many stories lately talking about all the good things they are doing over there or about the men and women who are serving our country with honor and earning combat medals for fighting and securing our freedom. This one came out of the blue, but its an issue thats really had me fired up lately.

[ QUOTE ]

Because people are so much happier when they can make somebody else more miserable than they are.

[/ QUOTE ]

BowJoe, that is VERY profound, but you need to substitute liberals for people. It has long been a liberal standard that if one person in society is miserable, all should be equally miserable - as opposed to the conservative standard of each person being responsible for their own happiness (or lack there of).

And about that liberal thing.....last night i was watchin a show on fox news and some idiot liberal gets up and says that bush isnt taking enough action on the North Korea situation aand that he is losing diplomacy???? Isnt it funny how when we do take action they all jump up and down holering criticizing Bush for leading us in to war , but when we try diplomacy like theyve been preaching, then they jump on him for NOT taking action!!?? Its getting rediculous and i wish that they would make up their mind what they stand for!!!!!!mad.gif

Are you inferring that the liberals might like to whine a bit blush.gifgrin.gif? Really I hear you, it does get old hearing how they try to slant things and sway the publics views, anymore I think I have come to expect it crazy.gifmad.gif.

If they spot a chance to make Bush look bad........they jump all over it. Seems to me liberals focus all there power and energy on bashing our president on just about every issue. The man can do nothing right in their views.

Im like you wtnhunt.......ive have just come to expect it.

That's just it, they don't stand for much and what they do stand for won't win them any elections.

About the only issues liberals take a solid stance on are:

Abortion - available on demand for any reason with no parental notification for minors and government funding

Gay marriage - legal in all states with the same recognition as traditional marriage

Taxes – the “rich” can never be taxed too much

The military – the proper use is for social experimentation and an international Meals on Wheels program.

Gun control – the more the better, won’t be happy until only the criminals have guns

Criminal punishment – give them every possible legal break during the trial and always try to rehabilitate, not punish, the criminal

Religion – an antiquated idea whose time is past and will not be tolerated in any shape, form or fashion in our schools or the government

Education – there’s never enough money spent, it’s never the teacher’s fault if kids fail, it’s never the kid’s fault if they fail, it’s never the parent’s fault if they fail

I could go on but I’m making myself mad…

Those are all very true Texan, however in this the "rich", we have to remember that some of those dems that are probably pretty well to do, may not part with thier own money quite as nicely as how they would like for "the rich" people to. Also have to remember that according to Kerry every family who got money back on Bush's tax cuts was only the wealthiest families in this country, so all those like my family who are in income brackets under $100,000 you have to convince yourself that you are "rich" confused.gif.

My conclusion to this is that the rich according to dems is really not the rich at all, but is more reallistically everyone from the lower middle class up, and yes they want to tax us all, everyone except the poor who are getting what we are working for.

Re: How the media portrays our troops

This is entirely my opinion and can in no way be construed as an official statement.

The view from my foxhole isn't much different. The guys on the ground, I won't say hate, but have some severe dislike for most of the media. Some are reporting the good things going on here. However, far more are not.

The job I'm in now is fairly high profile. Can't really get into it but I do run across reporters from time to time.

Stuff that should be "good news" stories get buried under other things. I guess it falls back on what sells better "A school gets rebuilt" or "GI's rape and kill civilians"

It's frustrating. But, the fact is, good things are happening here whether the media reports it or not.

Re: How the media portrays our troops

Anybody catch the newscast a couple weeks back?? Don't remember which one............Commie News Network, I think.............where in the same broadcast the 7 soldiers accused of rape were referred to as "7 Marines", while the 7 from Miami plotting to blow up the Sears Tower were referred to as "7 young men".

The media is bought & paid for. It's the #1 campaign and propoganda wing of the American National Socialist party (most often incorrectly called democrats).
