GOT OUR FIRST SUMMER YOTE!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Well my son and I went out this morning to hunt some yotes, we had been to this same spot about 3 times in the last 3 months with no luck. It's close to home and we usually see lots of deer.

Well this morning was oh so different. We took our liesurely time getting to the stand, got there around 6:00am,(1hr after first light) the grass was wet from a heavy dew from the 60 degree temps we had last night so we didn't know if the yotes would come through the wet grass or not. I started calling anyhow and after my second sequence there was a yote at 40yrds and closing, my son couldn't move to get a shot without being seen so I shot her at 20yrds. We stayed put and called some more and not five minutes later 2 more were closing fast. Cole (my 8yr old son) got around to my side for a shot, they were at 300yrds and still comeing then they stopped, looked around and started towards thier left towards the timber line. I called some more then one of them came out into the field and sit down for a minute and then went back into the timber line and started barking and howling. This went on for about 30 minutes or so then they stopped. We called for about 1hr more and went and retrieved our yote and started home. Upon pulling out on to the road I noticed something in the hay meadow accross the road it was a big yote, then saw 3 more. Didn't have permission to hunt that land, so we had to just watch them run around untill we had enough and left.

All in all we had an exciteing hunt and nocked a few yotes out of the future pack!!!!! smile.gifsmile.gif

We are using Winchester Supreme with the Ballistic Silvertip bullets and man let me tell you they done a number on that yote. It had an entry wound about the size of a softball and no exit. If your not gonna save the pelt these things will put them down.
