NiteRunner
Re: 2006 deer contest???? [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I want a 50 or 100 post minimum for people to play this year. After having two no-shows on my turkey team it can be very frustrating! Ranger [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, would be nice to see some rules along those lines. Not to come off as complaining, but would be nice as well to see those who claim to have killed deer on all teams follow through with properly following the instructions and getting appropriate photos to enter as well. People who enter need to understand the rules if they want to play. [/ QUOTE ] I like the sound of that. I noticed some only have one post which is to enter the contest and then disappear. Need2Hunt is doing a good job with the contest so whatever works for him.

TexasDeerHunter
Re: 2006 deer contest???? Ready for this year, last season was my first contest and it was exciting. Just wished that all of my team members would have checked in. I think we had a couple that never showed up and that possibly hurt our score. VTbowman
Re: 2006 deer contest???? Another vote for a minimum post count requirment. I have been on 2 teams now that have had no shows or super late and did not show again.
wtnhunt
Re: 2006 deer contest???? Yep, the newby's that dont stick around tend to also be those who neglect to follow the simple rules, not taking proper photos and such. I am also all for the post count minimum suggestion. Buckslayer
Re: 2006 deer contest???? There was a post minimum last year I recall... 50 posts maybe??? I agree that there should be one this year too. As for the winners defending their title, I think we should all get randomly assigned. Although maybe luck will prevail over skill anyway. Guest AustinAggie
Re: 2006 deer contest???? I understand the whole concept of a minimum post. However, that would exclude people who mainly read and don't necessarily post, like myself and Huntergirl. I would be upset too if someone who never visited the message board just showed up to enter their deer and won it.
Buckslayer
Re: 2006 deer contest???? wtn, you're right... they were evenly spaced among teams... Ryan, I didn't mean to form an opinion on the winning team defending their title - I don't really mind if they stay. My team was one of the last runners up last year... so I may stand a good chance of improving this year - IMO its still all in good fun

Turkeygirl
Re: 2006 deer contest???? I definitely agree on the minimum post think. I think just about every team I've been on, I've had a bunch of no-shows which makes it very dissappoiting, frustrating, and not fun at all. There needs to be a way to make sure people who are on a team actually participate fully. It is not fair for the other teams who have very active members because obviously they have a better advantage over those of us with "slackers". Just my opinion...
